Totally worth the purchase.
Excellent quality wood with all pieces sanded with no sharp edges or splinters. Some buyers made note of simplistic instructions for assembly; I agree but if you study the diagram, and separate all pieces first, this frame is easy to assemble. I attached a cross stitch pattern with dimensions of 14x15 inches which fit very well with the supplied 15 inch frame. Some buyers also made note of not being able to pull the fabric taunt, but again, I didn't have that problem. The plastic cinch clips that come with the 15 inch frame make it easy to attach the fabric to the rollers. Some buyers said they had a problem aligning the fabric so the top line was straight across and not crooked. I can see this as problematic if applying a new clean fabric to the frame (my design was already started). I think for new projects I will mark the right and left edges, with a marker, to help align the fabric. The one issue I have is not being able to pull the fabric taunt left to right. Before buying this frame ensemble, I was using a simplistic hoop and was able to pull the fabric taunt in all directions. I don't see it as a major problem, just something that I need to adjust to.I haven't actually done any stitching yet, so I don't know if reaching under and around the stitchery frame will be difficult or not. Either way, I will post a follow-up to this post when I do.Overall I really like the design of this embroidery frame. If my stitchery projects are easier to complete then this purchase was well overdue. One last comment concerning additional Goncharoff frames. I asked the company if Amelia supported their 22 inch frame. They said that it does. Hopefully, this comment may help anyone thinking the same question.

Very Flexible
Like other reviewers, I found the assembly instructions confusing, but looking at the photos on Amazon and other sites, you can see the frame from every angle. Working just from photos, it was much easier to assemble. You don't need tools, the 'bolts' are enclosed in small wood squares that can be loosened or tightened as needed. Caution: Do not over-tighten the bolts. They need to be a little loose to adjust the frame the way you want it from time to time. The frame and stand are sturdy. The wood is well sanded. There are no rough edges to snag things. I like how adjustable the height and tilt are. It is stable, flexible, and adaptable. I am glad I selected this one.

Great Item
The Goncharoff embroidery frame is excellent! I love it. It is well made and constructed from smooth wood. All rough edges have been smoothed out. And, the company has gone the extra step in covering up the knobs used to tighten or loosen the tension in the frame. It was easy to figure out once everything was laid out and the directions included, while not great, were not difficult to understand. It is a little bigger than I expected it to be, but that is actually a good thing. You can adjust both the height and the width of the frame, and the fact that it is attached to the "legs and arms" makes it very stable.I am going to buy frames in different sizes for different projects, as well. This is far better than many of the other frames I have seen online or in person at any of the crafts' stores.I totally recommend it for those interested in any kind of needlepoint.

Nightmare assembly
For the actually use of product it is good. My complaint is with the assembly and instructions, or lack of. There is one tiny piece of paper with a diagram and that is it. Took me about an hour to figure out how to put everything together. I was really excited to get it and put it to use, but the assembly quickly deflated that.

Not as hoped
I had high hopes for this frame - reading the other reviews I thought it would be easy to use and speed up my cross stitching. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold the fabric tight (despite a number of attempts) and the stitches were then uneven. I'm back to using my embroidery hoop and am trying to think of a way to get rid of this bulky frame.

Well made and a SOLID base for sitting and embroidering without neck strain. The big crossbar allows the attachment of a magnifying lamp which makes it even easier to do fine work. I am glad I sprung for the more expensive model--the extra stability and adjustability is worth it!

The one word I have to encompass my happiness with this product is AWESOME
I have used the Goncharoff Embrodery Frame for the last two months for my crosstitch projects. The one word I have to encompass my happiness with this product is AWESOME! I love the feature that allows the stretcher frame to swivel 360°. I did make wider stretcher bars to accommodate the projects I am currently working on. Purchased 3/4" dowel rod, 4 T-nuts and 4 hanger bolts from Lowe's to make the larger frame I needed. I also used 3/4" pieces of the dowel rod and the t-nuts to make the stretcher rod nuts. Well worth the money. Also received the product in the advertised time frame. Assembly instructions are easy to follow. If you do any needlework projects this is the last frame you will ever need.

So far wow. I use to have that one by that one brand that you could sit on. The wood was so cheap and that thing lasted maybe a month and then the threads in the wood got stripped and I couldn't tighten anything. Ok enough ranting about that product... sorry... this one well the wood feels soft and sturdy. And I absolutely love the clamps to hold the canvas down instead of slipping through the wood.... I am super super excited about this purchase!!!
