Groovy Yellow and Blue Motion Lamp

I blame my brother for this fiasco I went through. So one day in December my brother announces to me, I want a lava lamp. I take note of it, I order it later in the month due to finances and the shipping estimate is like 10 days. I wait about a week and I emailed the seller as the shipping estimate just seemed extreme. They promptly informed me the standard shipping time is 10 days so I said okay, thanks. The thing finally ships later (I can't remember but I know it was a long time, I blocked it from my memory) and I wait about a month, early February, and I email them again saying uhh... where is my lava lamp? It's been a month and I haven't received it yet. They again briskly inform me that the package has been delivered to the reception building or something like that. I wait about a week, and ask my sister, do we have anything like that? And she says uhhh... no. So I looked up the tracking information and last known stop is to Mario in the building in California. Okay, but I live in TEXAS. I email the seller again, informing them I don't know Mario, I don't have a building, and I live in Texas so I have no clue why they think it was delivered to me.They email Mario and turns out it was broken when it arrived in California. It took until about May for me to FINALLY get the replacement and my brother gets it and sets it up and texts me... the lightbulb burned out. So he had to buy a new one and finally, the clouds part in the heavens and the angels sing...The product itself works and looks cool but seriously NEVER AGAIN would I order from these people. You pay $25 for the thing, (which that money obviously doesn't go to good quality bulbs since you have to pay extra for one that uh, works?) $10 for shipping and they take a month to get stuff to you? And they don't even use that $10 shipping money to make sure the product is shipped safely? If I hadn't emailed and complained the thing would still be in California with Mario. Which I understand stuff happens but whoever I was talking to was rude, not understanding at all, and they never said sorry you had such a horrible experience and that we're so slow and we didn't quality check our product. I have never had such a terrible experience trying to get something like that. I would have just bought something in person but literally no store had lava lamps for those couple months I was dealing with that. And now whenever I pass one in the stores I just feel anger.

Ok, I had problems with the first lamp I got. I got the first lamp (blue and yellow) not even a whole month ago.. It was delivered on January 19th. The second one (purple and red) works fine and looks normal; it's perfect. However, the first one has been looking funny for the past two weeks. It isn't like the other one anymore. The lava is in a bunch of little tiny balls and moves very quickly through the lamp. The second one is slower and not in little balls; it's bigger pieces that slowly move and break off from each other like it's supposed to be. We turn them both off at night to give it a rest while we sleep. So I'm not sure what happened, but I think the bulb in the first one was too hot or something because the lava isn't the same. I'll try to come back and add pictures later.

This is a nice lamp. Downfall is the light bulb came broken. Kind of frustrating when you have to either go and by a new bulb or replace the whole item. Tried to contact the manufacturer to find out the type of light bulbs they are and if they could send me a replacement but haven't heard back yet. I would have bought this in a store over ordering it if I knew there was going to be a broken light bulb. So now it is going to sit in a box for a few days until I'm able to get a replacement bulb.

I love the different shape of this lava lamp compared to your typical cone shaped one. The coloring is great, adds a nice feel to the room. The only worry that I have is that it gets really really warm to the point where it's concerning so I tend to unplug it to cool off. There hasn't been anything dangerous about the product, but it's not an item I would leave on if I wasn't home.

Love the lamp only problem was finding the replacement light bulb. I looked everywhere for it! finally went online and looked for the foreign bulb. I actually found one and it worked. Here since it took me a while, ill make it easy for everyone the one i bought is called "Sylvania 14784 25-Watt Intermediate Base Incandescent R14 Mini-Reflector Light Bulb" It arrived in the mail fast and it seemed to do the job well. Hope someone finds this at least a bit helpful.

My son has been wanting a lava lamp for a while now. This one had a fun design and his favorite color, blue. Out of the box the paint on the base is already flaking off. I was ready to return it but my son said it didn't matter to him about the base. So we're keeping it, we'll just spray paint the base I guess. Everything else is great. Classic lava lamp flow and great color & glass design.

I was super excited to give this to my hubby for his birthday so imagine his disappointment, and my anger, when we opened the box and discovered that the light bulb had a broken filament and didn't work. Today I went to Lowe's and purchased a GE soft white spotlight 25 watt bulb. It fit the lamp perfectly and now that it has been plugged in for almost 3 hours it's working pretty good. I'm so excited to show my husband when he gets home from work!

Product arrived with a broken bulb.. It has a 30W bulb that seems to be impossible to replace. I haven't been able to locate a 30W medum base bulb at any of my locale stores. Not sure I will be able to find a bulb exactly like what was in it. Not real impressed with quality of the plastic base on this product either.
