12 ft Handrail is hit or miss with issues but still a great handrail.
Five stars for customer service and communication. Four stars for product quality.I had an issue when the initial package was delivered. The package arrived damaged but not only that, there were quite a few pieces missing in addition to items damaged. Promenaid’s customer service was exceptional. They were very prompt with their replies and were more than accommodating when handling the replacement of the missing pieces. Top notch five-star experience! I couldn’t ask for more with my interaction with them. The handrail and brackets are beautiful and made of high quality materials. With that said, I did have a few issues.1) I needed a 12-foot long handrail. Logistically, there is almost no way to ship a 12-foot long item, so the handrail was mailed in two pieces. My original package contained a damaged six-foot handrail (one was missing due to shipping damage). When I received my replacement package, I received seven foot and five foot handrails instead of two six-foot handrails. This caused a gap in the spacing of the brackets since I couldn’t evenly space them like I would have if I had two matching handrail lengths.2) Both handrails were sealed in plastic but one still had a deep scratch in it. I know Promenaid would’ve been happy to replace it but I didn’t want to wait any longer to have a handrail installed in my stairway. I’m unsure how a scratch this significant can pass QC. I had one other scratch on it but it wasn’t as bad. You can see it in the picture of the seam.3) There was a noticeable difference in the wood grain pattern and color between the two handrails. I’m not sure if there’s anything that can be done about this since I would imagine it’d be hard to have two exact matching handrails. Nonetheless, it’s not satisfying seeing a handrail that changes color and pattern halfway down. If you’re buying a six-foot or less handrail, you won’t have this issue.4) Another issue with having two handrails was how they connected. A hidden metal connector is supplied to connect the two handrails together. The connector connects only the lower quarter of the handrails, so the handrails can still rotate slightly and bend apart. This allowed slight rotation makes it very hard to have a seamless connection between the two handrails. There should be a better way to connect two handrails without allowing a seam. Running our hands on the handrail while walking down the stairs and hitting the seam is a bit aggravating. If they had a straight connector similar to their corner bends, that would be a much better solution.5) The last issue I had was with the grooved channel in the handrail for the vinyl grip and brackets to attach to. My longer handrail had no issues but the shorter one had issues. The channel was either not smooth or had some slight manufacturing defect because the vinyl grip insert did not slide out as easy as it did compared with the other handrail piece. This also made it a lot harder to insert the brackets onto it. I actually bent a couple of bracket connectors because they wouldn’t lock in easily into the channel. Thankfully, I was able to straighten the connector enough with two locking pliers. I spent an additional 10 minutes each getting the bracket locked into the bad channel. I almost gave up as it was very frustrating. Getting the rubber grip to slide back into the bad channel was also as frustrating. I had to use WD-40 to lubricate the channel enough for me to slide it in. I’m not a big fan of the smell from WD-40 but I had no choice but to use it. Like I said, the longer handrail was ok, but the shorter one was not. It was probably just bad luck on my part.Even with all that said, the handrail is very nice and reeks of quality when installed. I am still very happy with it and would recommend this product. I would rate this 4 1/2 stars but I can only rate it whole stars, so it'll have to be a 4.

Sturdy, attractive, but challenging for one person to install
For added safety, I installed this 10' railing on a 10-step stairway as a second, and longer, railing (right side going down). The original 8' long oak stair railing was on the left going down. I attached this railing to studs using the five provided railing supports.Locating and confirming five spaced studs on a stairway wall with multiple hidden electrical wiring and two standpipes was time consuming (laundry room and bathroom are on opposite side). I initially used the provided plastic connector (and metal connector) to connect the two 5' pieces together, but I discarded the plastic and only used the metal connector as the plastic connector was ill-fitting and made the connection uneven. Spouse was pleased with looks of installed railing, and going down and up these stairs is now much safer. We are in our 70s and safety is paramount.Installing this 10" long railing would be easier with two people, although I was able to do it by myself.

Easy to install
We bought this for our 5th wheel rv. All the bells and whistles, we just didn't pay attention to lack of an interior handrail to the upper bedroom. Oh boy, being older you notice when you first awaken in the morning. Anyway, easy to install. Instructions were very clear and concise. Sturdy and helps me stay upright in the morning. Looks great, like it came with the rv from the manufacturer.

Safety matters
I am very pleased with this rail that I bought for my mother's house. My brother did have to help me with the installation, but that was because of a problem with a metal stud. It's very sturdy and looks nice. Great value and I would definitely recommend it to others.

This is perfect for a safety rail and was easy for me to install. You will need a stud finder.
My house has an 18 inch vertical offset to the bedroom section and we are now in our early 70's and this works perfect. Me and my wife use it every time we to up/down the three steps.

Great product.
This is a well made banister and easy to install. I would suggest that you have a good power screw driver as the screws are long. Though the price is a bit high, every cent is well spent.

Very solid, good looking railing
This handrail exceeded my expectations. It was very easy to install. The only small issue was that the hardware was secured inside the box with a glued plastic dome. This dome came loose and the parts were all over the inside of the box. A couple even came out the end in the delivery truck. Fortunately the delivery person noticed and put them back in so nothing was missing.
