Ubiquinol is the best form of CoQ10 after age 40 and has many health benefits.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat-soluble nutrient produced naturally by our bodies, and is an antioxidant largely responsible for your energy levels. Found in every cell in the body, CoQ10 is concentrated in organs that require the most energy — such as the heart, liver, muscles and kidneys. CoQ10 is concentrated in these organs because it is essential to the process of producing cellular energy. CoQ10 is in some foods, such as beef liver, grassfed beef, chicken, mackerel, sardines, broccoli, and peanuts, and is also produced by our bodies. As we get older, our bodies produce less CoQ10, which can cause us to feel more tired. There are two forms of CoQ10. Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of CoQ10, and Ubiquinol is the reduced form. Our bodies can readily convert Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol until about the age of 40. So prior to this age, either form should work equally well. After the age of 40, the Ubiquinol form works better and is more easily absorbed. Prior to age 40, both forms of CoQ10, Ubiquinol and Ubiquinone, are equally effective, but Ubiquinol is more readily available. Your body needs to convert Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol, and prior to age 40, this isn't a problem. After that, it's more difficult for our bodies to make the conversion. Ubiquinone is generally less expensive, but less effective after age 40.This particular CoQ10 supplement uses Kaneka QH which has been noted as a quality source. You can easily find the health benefits of CoQ10 on the internet, so I won't describe them all here. I am 74 years old and have been taking this form of CoQ10 for 8 years. At this point, I have a high energy level and am on no medications. I believe CoQ10 has contributed to my health and energy level.I hope this review was helpful for you. A CQ10 product that has made a noticible difference at a very reasonable price
My physician recommended that I take CQ10 to help alleviate the muscle weaken and fatigue I was experiencing as a side effect from my statin medication. I purchased and began taking CQ10 I bought at a local store. It didn't seem to be making any difference with my weakness and fatigue. I consulted with a naturopath at my local health food store as to which type of CQ10 I should take and what the proper dosage should be. I was told to take CQ10 with ubiquinol as opposed to that with ubiquinon. While both are good, the ubiquinol form is used more quickly and completely by your cells. Ubiquinol is what ubiquinon becomes after it has been processed by your body. My physician confirmed this as well. One thing I quickly noticed is that the CQ10 with ubiquinol was far more expensive than that with ubiquinon, and also more difficult to find in non-healthfood stores. This Doctor's Best Ubiquinol was very reasonably priced and I have noticed after a week or so of taking it that I do have more energy and am not so fatigued after doing physical work. The difference was quite noticeable. I plan to continue taking this and recommend it to anyone looking for the physical benefits of taking CQ10. As a disclaimer, I am not a medical professional and wanted to detail my experience with this product. For more detailed information on the difference between ubiquinol and ubiquinon or taking CQ10 with a statin (cholesterol) medication I encourage you to do online research or discuss it with your physician. In this review, I wanted to detail my experience with the product and attest to it being very positive for me.

Helps aches and pains from Statin drug
Bought this for my dad who has been taking a stating drug for the past 3 years. In that time, he had more joint and muscle pains along with some intermittent tingling of fingers. He and his doc thought that was due to the aches and pains of someone his age (81 years young) since he's had minor aches and pains for years now. Well, 5 months of taking Doctor's Best Ubiquinol and my dad is having a difficult time telling me where he's feeling any aches and pains. In other words, he hasn't complained about any aches and pains in a while so I finally asked him 5 months after he started this Ubiquinol. He was actually surprised that he had no symptoms of aches, pains, tingling and numbness. Fyi: the only change in diet, drugs, or supplements over the past 5 months is the addition of the Ubiquinol. One more thing: my dad also takes a drug to maintain his high blood pressure. But that drug keeps his blood pressure in the low pre-hypertension level which according to his doc is ok for someone his age. Well, his blood pressure over the past 3 months has dropped 20 points so I think the Ubiquinol is helping with that too. I considered telling him to lower the dosage for the hypertension drug to see if his numbers will stay normal. Anyway, I think I can safely say that my dad would definitely recommend this supplement especially to those taking a stating drug and feeling aches and pains.

Stuck together, unusable, $35 down the drain
I have bought this product at least 10 times and have never had an issue with it. My order was delivered yesterday and I immediately realized I didn’t hear the capsules sloshing around in the bottle. I opened it and the capsules were allll stuck together. I read another review on here that said they can be put in the refrigerator and shaken apart. I tried that and it didn’t work. The capsules were delivered without that little silicone packet that absorbs moisture. If I try to pry the capsules apart, they burst and leak everywhere. Even if I could get them apart, I wouldn’t be getting the full dosage due to how much they leak when breaking apart. No return policy due to food item. $35 down the drain and superrrrrr disappointed.
