great for the price
happy enough with this. a lot depends on what you want to store. i had a random lot of tools rattling in my diy toolbox and wanted to “prune” them into something like this as an experiment of sorts. the width of the pockets is a little bit inconsistent and given it rolls up, larger items (eg hammers) are not going to live in this. but it feels strong and will get light use so i expect it to last. added photos to show mix of tools. give me a thumbs up if useful , bought with my own money! 👍

Abandoned tool roll
Four years ago I bought this tool roll and used it for a while. The string ties were useless so I had an old leather trouser belt wrapped around holding the contents tightly together. Despite the belt, small tools kept falling out and I spent more time replacing and re-arranging them in the roll than using them. Eventually I gave up on the roll and bought instead a basic canvas tool bag which holds everything securely - smaller tools being protected seperately.

Exactly what I needed
This is great value for money. It's made of robust material, got plenty of pockets for my spanner set and the ties are held with press toggles which saves the trouble of tying them off. The ties are a bit long for what I need but I guess they are made that way in case you put bulkier tools in it. There are plastic studs along one end that you can put sockets onto. Half of them are for quarter inch drive and the other half for 3/8 inch. I haven't used that feature but I'm sure someone will find it useful.

Good, but needs velcro straps, not string!
I rarely right reviews, however have made an exception for this item. Let me start by saying its a good item and has met the needs that it was intended for; principally storing spanners, grips and screwdrivers that were loose in the toolbox. There are two negative points: Firstly that the string/cord lock is not strong enough to hold the roll closed to prevent tools from slipping out. To resolve this I purchased some velcro straps. Secondly, all the spanners fitted nicely into a pocket each and the pockets became progressively larger matching the spanner sizes, however at the smaller end there was one pocket that was too wide. Two spanners could be fitted into it, but they would all too easily slip out.. This was fixed with a row of stitching along the pocket by a sewing machine. This lack of stitching may be quality control issue, or the way its designed. If the latter, put some stitching along the pocket!

Tools fit
I has bought one of these before a different one, for my spanners but it was far too small so before ordering this one I checked the measurements against the largest spanner I had. It's just right for the job as my spanners were still in the original plastic case which had seen better day's.
