nicely done
I read all the reviews and felt pretty good about the purchase. They just came in today so of course I have to run the guns to see what they can do. I bought mine in .451) Came in clean from the package, no need to do any cleaning at all. I rubbed with a white cloth and very little residue.2) No rough edges, I was expecting to have to run some 800 grit sandpaper over it. Not needed.3) Fit in the magazines just fine, loaded to capacity (7 and 8 rounds for 1911's; 13 for the XDM).4) Chambered a round, even when I rode the slide down, no sizing issues5) Slow cycling the rounds caused no problems, nor did rapid cycling.6) No ejection problemsGuns used for testSpringfield XDMSpringfield 1911Smith and Wesson 1911 tacticalCaspian Custom CommanderI built my Caspian to very tight tolerances. I do have a heavy spring so that does make a bit of a difference. I offset the spring strength by riding the slide, which of course is a no-no in real operations. It still fully chambered. My full size 1911's had no problems either. They have been used much more as they are work guns, no issues at all. The XDM cycled as normal as well. Based upon what I have in front of me, if these don't feed in your gun, you probably have some issues you need to address with you gun. Some people may get a bad lot, but I think that would be an exception, not the norm as the machining looks very good. The only thing to consider, which of course is by design, is they do look and feel like the real thing. Practice good safety when handling

Will not properly feed or extract. Jammed the slide.
These are a great idea, in theory. I really like the fact that they're similar in weight to real ammunition and come in a pack of 10. The silicone primer insert is nice, too. However, none of the 10 snap caps would properly feed or eject from my Springfield XD-45. I could get the round to chamber, but they would jam the slide when trying to clear them. Every time. I had to drop the mag and, twice, had to pry the slide back to remove them.Edit: I canceled my Amazon return in favor of working with the existing material, because I do like the idea of these snap caps, and I found the trick:I used a foam sanding block to smooth all of the edges, including where the "bullet" meets the "casing," where the base of the casing tapers in, and just generally smoothed out the bottom rim (where the extractor hooks onto). After a good 30 minutes of smoothing all edges of each and every round, I cleaned 'em then ran them through - they fed & extracted perfectly. Probably still not technically worth all the effort I put into them, but they'll now serve their propose!I also marked each of the tips with blue Sharpie because, as others have noted, it's scary to think of mixing things up and accidentally chambering live ammo when you just wanted to work on off-range drills or safely store your firearm. The Sharpie will also make it easier to identify the snap caps among the spent casings when I'm loading these in with live ammo for drills.

Good qaulity snaps
Fake bullets. Be careful and don't mix them up with live ammo. As these look very similar to live ammo. The primer area is in red, so that helps. I put these side by side to live ammo and at a glance couldn't tell the difference. I think the product is good, they cycle through my Springfield XD Mod2 Subcompact 45 ACP without any issues. Helps with scenario training and trigger control. You do have to manually cycle the snaps caps through as if the weapon was fired to chamber the next round. They are good quality and should last a long time. Good for training.

Great!
I don't have any other types of snap caps to compare these to, but I am very satisfied with these. I looked at others, but they were either plastic or aluminum and I didn't think those materials would withstand my Springfield mil spec 1911.I fed about 8 magazines through my pistol and there were no visible shavings left in it. The caps feel and load like the real thing and are great for getting comfortable with the firearm. They did arrive a bit dirty, but it looked like machine grease, and as you can see in the pictures cleaned up nicely with a rag. Last picture shows (minimal) wear and tear after being fed through multiple times.Made in the USA.Ordered on Friday night, received Sunday morning. Thank you KP Tactical, Amazon prime and UPS Sunday package delivery!

Great for training the young and the old
The .45 ACP snap caps was the first purchase I made from KP Tactical. Since then I've also purchase the 9-mm and the .38 Special snap caps. KP tactical makes a great product. All of their snap caps load and unload as if they were actual ammunition. The brass quality is excellent and they have the look and feel of the real ammunition round. I specifically use the snap caps as a training device to teach my grand kids how to safely handle fire arms and how to safely load and unload them. Great training prop. I highly recommend the entire KP Tactical product line. I just wish they manufactured a .22 Cal snap cap.

Fantastic product.
These are high quality snap caps. The "primer" sticks out further than any other caps I've owned so I feel better about repeat dry firing and worry less about my firing pin. They are heavy like a round is so you have to rack the action good (like you should) when practicing failure drills. brass means they won't damage the gun or leave red paint and aliminum flakes every where, and it means when your at the range with you buddy you can slip one in his single stack magazine and he won't notice when he inserts the mag ;) good way to train for flinching and speed reloads too. Great product. Will be buying more and will recommend these to my friends.

Quality product
These things work great, and I haven't had a problem with cycling through anything. I am, however, TERRIFIED that I'm going to mix them up with live rounds because they are brass. It might help if they were anodized a bright color. Whenever I use them, I make sure that all of my live ammunition is locked up, just so there's no chance. Remember to be aware of your surroundings and treat every gun like it's loaded.
