If the light is off and I pull the chain, it turns on. But, if it’s already on and I pull it, the light turns off. How does it know?

Great for use on mosaics
I like buying different sizes ball chain to use in my mosaics. It's important to get stainless steel if your art works are going to be outside and from what I can tell, it definitely is SS. I'm going into my Fall craft phase so will be using it soon.
