PREMO Probiotics for Dogs
GREAT product ---used for two months now and has worked well for my dog!!Update: Dec: 2017 - I have used it continuously since this review. However this last "jar" (and the current one which I just opened yesterday) seems to be a different color so I suspect that the formula has been changed. Coincidentally, it seems less effective for my dog's digestive issues. Prior to this it has worked consistently well, and I was VERY Pleased. I am disappointed, now, as it took me a very long time to find this (and at great expense) and my dog suffers a great deal with some sort of inability to digest fats (or proteins, not sure which.)To the makers -- please return to the old formula --- it WORKED!!

The product seems to work for our Maltese. The reviews mentioning adverse side effects, depend more on the individual dog/diet it appears than the product. Deciding to continue using was easy. With no negative reactions and an 60-80% improvement, the decision is a strong yes. The four star review is more to do with the overall packaging and dispensing inconvenience. Digging for the spoon, and having the same amount of product sticking to my fingers, to what is desired dose age is frustrating. The company states they are working on this issue, so hopefully next order will have this issue resolved. In the meantime, I place the product in a Tupperware shaker. Not the best answer, but better than wasting product, for the cost, and having dusty fingers! Overall, I recommend trying. If this offers you the positive result we are getting, it's worth it. We all can sympathize with a dog who has issues with digestion and evacuation. This product definitely helped our 5 pound Maltese, Munchkin.

Video to show her skin included
The media could not be loaded. ****Disclaimer- the video is terrible but just so you get an idea you can see the redness on her skin this was all BEFORE we gave her the probiotic!****So let's start here my dog has some skin issues she has been destroying her skin in various places under her neck, back, base of tail, ears, side, and under belly.... everyday I would come home and there would be a new gnawed on spot wet and bleeding or long scratches extending the length of her body. She was miserable and you could see it there was something wrong this wasn't out of habit, it really itched.... I tried hot spot treatments and while they worked a little you could still see hives and dark red spots of irritation on her all the time. We took her to the vet and they told us it had to be a food or flea allergy, did everything to get her on a food that didn't bother her and got flea medication.... still spots and hives appeared. It was sad you would be walking her and she would lose her footing because the itch became so unbearable she had to stop and scratch it I wanted nothing more than to make my adopted pup feel well she had already lived most of her life on the streets and in the pen so she deserved peace. I did a bunch of research and finally consulted the vet about getting her on a probiotic to see if she had GI issues he agreed that this was our last option before we would have to do a full panel of allergy screenings. It has now been about 3 weeks since I purchased this product I was terrified my dog with an already sensitive stomach was going feel like CRAP the first few days (as it says it may get worse before it gets better) I ended up giving her 1 scoop for the first week and then upped it to the recommended 3 scoops for the next 2 weeks I think the gradual dosage increase helped with her not feeling ANY side affects to the probiotic. No 3 weeks later she is pooping solid (which was another issue we were having) and she refains from scratching her skin till it bleeds she still has the occasional itch but who doesn't, right? The hives have completely vanished and her dry flaky skin and rough coat are now looking 100x better than before the probiotic treatment. All in all I couldn't be happier that she is feeling better and if cost 30 every 4 months for the rest of her life to make her life a painless one than I will happily do it.

I'd recommend this but may try some other ones because of ...
At the beginning, the dogs didn't eat the food for a little over a day until their hunger consumed them. We didn't have any issues with them eating the food after that but the powder clumped up after a month or so even though we closed the lid with the paper lining after every use. I threw this out last week because the clumps were getting too hard to break down.I'm not really sure how people are managing the powder turning into rocks.I'd recommend this but may try some other ones because of the clumping.

Good luck
I've used this for 10 days on both my dogs; a lab and a chi. Hasn't done a thing to aid in the fecies eating. The vet gave us another one that started working within 2 days. This was cheaper, now I know why.

Good Probiotic for my Dog
I am a believer in the benefits of probiotics and have taken them myself for over seven years. They keep my digestive issues under control. When my rescue dog was having soft and sometimes runny stools after I brought her home. I thought of probiotics for her. It took about a week to normalize her system and I have continued to add this probiotic to her food on a daily basis. I occasionally add some Diggin your Dog pumpkin powder (purchased here on Amazon) when I think she needs a tad extra help (maybe ate something outside her normal diet). The combination of these two products have really helped and she has not had any runny stools since I started this probiotic. It mixes right in with her food (I feed dry with a little canned added in) and my dog doesn't even notice it. She is small so I only use one scoop and it is only a tiny bit of the powder so it lasts for months. Update: It is now over a year since I posted this review and I have reordered this product many times. My dog continues to benefit with no digestive issues so I will be using this indefinitely.
