My son is the guitar player. This was his response: Needs to be end of your signal chain just need to have a pre-amp before it! By pre-amp ( any pedal that changes your signal a boost pedal, overdrive/distortion pedal, or any type of multi effect unit.) Here is how I run my chain ( guitar, volume, line 6 hx effects, boost, cabdriver, mxr Ed pedal, then out to the board)

Q: whats the difference between this one and the 169.00 version that I see an guitar center?

Not really sure. It’s not showing on the Digitech website (only the $169 shows). My only guess is that it is a smaller version but hard to tell based on the pic. If it was me, I’d order it and see how you like it.

Q: Want to clarify...if i plug into mono a, will the cabdryvr split the signal to out a and b, or do i need to split prior to the cabdryvr?

If plugging in mono, the output is split and you can either run 2 cab sims or one cab sim and a dry out. Very flexible.
