In what country are these made?

I am not sure what country these are made in, but the quality is not what it used to be. My mother has a set of Pimpernel cork placements from forty years ago that still look like they are brand new. The ones I bought a couple of years ago were ready for the rubbish pile in short order. The design, while absolutely gorgeous, is printed on very thin paper which is adhered to the cork base. Any bit of moisture left too long causes damage. In my opinion, you should be able to put a glass down and not have to worry about the condensation or little spills that naturally occur ruining your placemats! Loved the Morris & Company design, but they just didn’t last!

Yes, although the current listing does not make that clear. These are the most wonderful placemats, heavy-duty, very pretty, sturdy, and just wipe clean with a cloth. No laundry, no ironing! The price is really, really good, too. They usually sell for quite a bit more.
