About This Project We have designed a simple quick-change tooling interface that allows to easily convert Formaker from a high resolution dual head 3D printer to a CNC mill / etch PCB / laser engraver in seconds. With Formaker you can have a full machining center right on your desk. It is designed to meet the complex prototyping and manufacturing needs. 3D Printer: The dual head 3D printer is compae with a wide array of printing mediums. PLA, ABS, Polycarbonate, Ninjaflex, even Carbon Fiber PLA and Wood analog filaments. We have engineered a first class print head with independently adjustable temperatures and very good precision, as good at 2.5 microns per slice! CNC Mill: The Formaker’s CNC mill has a standard ⅛” (3.1 mm - 3.3 mm) collet, which allows it to accept all the tools you’d expect from a CNC mill. The router is powerful enough to handle all kinds of materials from wood and acrylic, to brass and aluminum. Laser Engraver: When we were designing the Formaker we wanted to get as much usability out of the laser as possible that is why we sourced a 1.0 W 455 nm diode for our laser! This allows us to cut thin materials, and engrave many other materials including wood, leather, soft metals, plastics, and acrylic! PCB Etcher: We have designed the Formaker’s CNC Mill to allow it to function as a PCB etching platform. You can etch PCB from Brass, Aluminum, and Copper. Touch Screen: The Formaker should be easy to use, so we included a touch screen to make controlling the Formaker as easy as possible. We have worked hard to ensure that everything you need to control is available from the touch screen.
