Standard Motor Products TS24 Temp Sender/Sensor

Worked great on my 360FE

The temp sensor in my 1965 Mustang was reading much too low. I have heard that some after-market temp sensors can be inaccurate. I have read at least two form posts that recommended Standard Motor Products temp sensors. Of course advice on any forum has to be taken with a grain of salt, after installing this sensor, it seems to read accurately. I tested my thermostat, so I know that it's accurate and I used a radiator cap with a built-in thermometer to get an idea of when the thermostat should be opening and therefore that the temp gauge should start indicating a reading.

Bought this sender for my 67 Mustang. I've tried senders from the local parts stores with NO luck. I was ready to throw in the towel and deal without having a temperature gauge. The parts store ones either didn't work at all, or the resistance was not the correct range. I needed for the stock gauge one that would hit around 20ohms to put the needle centered, all the working ones from the parts stores wouldn't even get close. They would sit around 50-60 ohms and one a little closer at 40 which was WAY off, to where the needle would hardly come off the Cold mark. This one puts my needle at center perfectly. Wish I would have bought this one to begin with
