Airplane Recording Cable For GARMIN VIRB, VIRB Ultra and VIRB Elite Cameras

Works well. Records audio from headsets during flight lessons to Garmin ultra 30. Wish there was a way to connect a extra power source to the camera at the same time also. Works well and is of quality build.Update: when pulling the plug out cam it detached or separated. Sad, it worked great while it lasted.So I am updating this review. I sent the seller a photo of the detached connector. I didn't ask for anything was axtuqlly looking purchasing another cable from. Else where but the seller is sending me a new cable. You really cannot beat that kind service. Excellent customer service.

I'm new to the action camera market, just bought the VIRB Ultra and wanted to record ATC audio when I fly. This cable has to be plugged in to the camera to work, which is not the case for all cables that plug directly into your iphone or Sony type recorder. This won't help me with my VIRB sitting underneath the wing.

The cable worked OK. I would have preferred the small box in the middle have better strain relief so it would last longer. However I will be returning it as I no longer have the camera. As it turns out my experience with the VIRB Elite was a little too frustrating to keep it. It was a nice product on paper but even though it was sold as new, it's a discontinued product and the drivers have not been updated in nearly two years. This means the issues I worked through and those that could not be fixed, will never be fixed. And yes, I double checked with Garmin support, many forums, reviews here on Amazon, etc. I gave the product plenty of time, and the benefit of the doubt, but in the end it wasn't worth the money. I will look at the next generation of VIRBs when the price comes down.

This cable DOES NOT WORK for Garmin Virb Ultra 30. Because it uses a 1/4" plug instead of the very common 1/8" audio plug, I have to use an adapter. I have tested the microphone separately, as well as several different adapters that I know work, and I cannot get any audio to work on the camera. What a waste of money.

This works very well to bring communication with ATC to your recording device without cockpit noise. In my case it is for a Garmin VIRB but I’m sure the device specific unit will work as well with whatever recorder you have.

This audio cable for atc audio works well with garmin virb. Tried before with nflight cam cord designed for Gopro. Now the soud is clear and lud since this is designed for Virb.

This product works exactly as intended and as needed. Not a huge purchase but the company was professional, and understands pilots, and was most courteousand accomodating. They did everything right and I will surely buy from them again. I highly recommend CRAZED PILOT!

The item look well made unfortunately the jack input for the mic is 1/4" whereas I needed 3.5mm to use with a RØDE - VideoMic
