Please note it depends on the outer diameter of the roll. Min. Inner Core Size this holder supports is 1 inch. Of course, it can handle a larger holder. Max Outer Diameter of the roll should be no more than 6 inches Max Label Width 5 inches

Q: will a standard roll of 320 UPS #01774006 labels fit?

Should be fine. I'm using 4x3 and 4x2 labels and fit just fine. 1" core is what u need and no more than 5" round. If bigger just pull some back until it fits.

Hello, The label holder is optional for fan-fold labels since you can just lay the labels on the table. It is necessary for label rolls, however. Thanks!

Yes there is a plastic center piece to hold the roll. You can also use fan fold labels too. Hope this helps!
