must have!
With as slippery as the backpackers cache bear canister is this carrying case is a must have!! Especially if you plan on saving pack room by carrying this outside the pack. Good solid construction, not ripstop tho so do be dilligent in not tossing on rocks or running thru sharp brush.10/10 must own.I affixed some reflective tape in sequence on the outside so I could easily find it if need be in low light.

Poor material
The bag easily rips. I have had 3 rip on me so far so it’s not a error on my part. The material is just not rugged enough for the backcountry. My friends have had similar experiences.

Fits the largest bear ball and has good attaching points
Fits the largest bear ball and has good attaching points. However, I planned on attaching it to the outside of my pack, only to find that it upsets the pack/load/balance to a point i couldn't deal with. At that point it became a pretty good stuff sack for other gear, attached externally.... if the bear ball was empty it might be more valuable. I pack pretty dense food and it is more convienent to not have to reload the bear ball each night. That weight makes up the majority of my load on long trips, it has to be inside my pack. other packs may perform better and if so, this will be an excellent addition for the weight.

Backpackers Cashe
Great product. Very secure. Wish it was a little lighter, but they are all about the same weight. Couldn't be happier.

Works great, attaches easily to outside of pack.
Super easy to attach to the outside of the pack. Would be nice if it was not green though, if I were to have used this to hang the canister in a tree it would have been harder to find.

Failed in the Rockys...
Gave it a good Rocky Mtn test and was not impressed. Garcia bear canister fits nice and snug but the material is weak and developed a hole about 2 inches wide after only a few rubs against a rock. I couldn't believe it. The straps held quite securely onto my external frame pack but I wouldn't give em any more than a couple more treks before something breaks. Will be purchasing another brand although I do own a Garcia canister and they're the best!

Tight fit for a Bear Cache canister
The bear Cache fits in it, at first I didn't think it actually would, it was pretty tight especially around the center bulge of the canister. Doesn't really feel like $22 worth of material but we'll see after some use. I can't imagine on first look that this will last very long, it's not fantastic by any means. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, but I'm kind of doubting it at the moment. Time will tell.

Not worth it.
Such a waste. So clunky. Just get a bigger backpack if you're going to lug this around.
