what shoes does this guy have on in this picture?

How does this compare against the cubefit terramat (currently at $99 with a 10% coupon from their website)? i'm trying to decide between the two.

The terra mat is definitely the best of the Topo imitators, so that's a great question. In my opinion, the terra mat sacrificed quite a bit to avoid infringing on our patent. My biggest qualm personally is that the two bumps on the sides have very steep walls, so they buckle when pressure is applied, resulting in an odd non-linear feel, and even potentially pinching. Their back ramp has a similar issue, but when it buckles, it sort of wraps around your foot as the side walls lean inward. Our estimate is that terra mat uses about 75% as much foam as Topo, which means their production costs are lower, whereas we made no compromises in designing the absolutely optimal mat. FYI - as you may have seen, The Wirecutter feels that Topo is the best standing desk mat as well. That's just my two cents - whatever you try - I'd love to hear about your experience!

What is Topo made out of.....does it have any give?

Great question! Topo is made of 100% polyurethane foam. It is cushioning, but supportive.If feels like just what you would expect from a top of the line anti-fatigue mat, but it isn't flat!
