Q: Bought mine in 2013 and it's worked fine until now. Now it just stays on continuously and I have to pull the plug the shut it down. Any suggestions?

The dial on the back that controls the temperature (thermostat) has failed. If you or someone you know that works with electrical,can replace it with same or acceptable substitute.

Q: will the heater restart automatically if the power turns off or do you have to restart it manually when the power comes back on?

I have never had an outage, but it's fully manual, so I would expect it to restart exactly where you set it.

Q: Is the element suppose to glow orange . Because mine doesn't and tealy not putting out much heat ?

Q: Why do people use the “Term” 220 volts? Most utility’s consider it 120/240 volts I realize that 220 will work under a 240 volts system.

American std voltage is rated at 110 v. If you run a meter on it you will find alternating current varries, beteen 110, and 120v, uasually reading about 115 on good equipment. Most manufacturers use the higher saftey rating of 120v. As in europe 240v usually tests out at 230v depending on load. The 110v/120v rating is most relevant to being a single circuit, while 220v/240v is two live conductors, allowing for more effecint use of amperage.
