You know the aphorism, “To thine own self be true”? Well, the message of this book is the opposite: “If they go low, you go lower.”If you want to sleep soundly at night, don’t follow the slithery advice offered by this book - unless you’re an apprentice gangster.

I've never heard of this guy before. But dear me if he isn't as wise as they come. The best volume of aphorisms/rules for life that I've ever come across. at this price you have no reason not to buy this book.

The book is mostly comprised of tips to help you seem like a more professional and strong person to the people that you want to seem professional and strong towards. Not really what I expected but still a great read and the book does contain a lot of thought worthy advice about self reflection and outward appearances. I guess I was expecting some more psychological manipulation advice in there (it has some!).

This is a lovely small pocket sized book which very easily complements THE SUN TZU and POWER book. The dialog is easy to read and understand. The book is by BALTASAR GRACIAN a seventeenth century Spanish priest's shrewd maxims on using guile and pragmatism to succeed in a dangerous world and is translated by Jeremy Robbins. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys the art of strategy. The only slight niggle is the book has a large printed £1 on the back but I paid a lot more!

Love it! very good advice in this book for friends who are fed up with others' negativity and impact on their personal lives. The book is very easy to navigate, as every advice is independent of each other, therefore you may open it in any page, anywhere. The size fits your inner suit pocket, so a very good read for early mornings to learn techniques that will change your perspective, make life easier for you and teach you how to handle the bad fish around you.
