Small, Quiet & Light but packs a punch! On the first day the humidity was 90%, I had it on high for 3 hours between the entrance of our house and the door to our kitchen and it pulled a full tank of water and reduced the humidity to 75% – amazing! I let it run for another 3 days on high and I can see that the humidity is now at 62%, I cannot imagine all the water had been floating in the air. The great thing is this dehumidifier has an “Economy” mode for maximum energy saving and quiet operation – which is what I have it on now. I find that it is now moderating itself to come on when humidity rises, for example when I start cooking, with the steam from my cooking this machine starts running to take the humidity out, I used to get condensation on my windows when I start cooking, I don’t anymore. There is some chatter about the cost of running dehumidifier, this is what needs to be considered, when the air is humid (high humidity like 60% or more) bacteria can grow, many people know this but what is more interesting is that high humidity also makes the air in the room more difficult to cool and heat up. Yes this machine emits slightly warm air – an obvious bonus for the winter but less obvious is the bonus in the summer, even though this air is warm, it is “good warm air” known technically as “sensible heat” which is easier to cool – this means that your air conditioner does not need to work so hard to cool down the warm air because the humidity is lower! Very much like me boiling my potatoes in a big pot of water takes longer than if I use just enough water and me trying to put my jello to cool, small pots of jello cool quicker than big pots? If you have high humidity in the room, its “latent heat” so it takes the air conditioner more effort to cool it down. This dehumidifier also has a laundry mode and a turbo mode, it speeds up the dehumidier process so that it takes shorter time to do the job. I tried the laundry mode, and put my laundry to hand about 3 feet away and it dries the laundry so quickly in 3 hours! Use this mode only when you need to though. For the price I paid, I am very satisfied, it has a lid over the water tank and it has a handle on the cover, a very good point for me as I am rather clumsy and do now want water to spill when I need to empty it. There is a continuous drain hose supplied which I won’t need to use for now as I use the water from the dehumidifier to water my plants. The tank out from the side of the dehumidifier, this is useful as I do not need to move the dehumidifier when I need to empty the tank. My old dehumidifier has a tank that slids out from the back, very clumsy as I needed to move the dehumidifier round to get to the tank!

Don't get fooled like I did. Save your hard earned money.
I purchased this on 04/26/17 and it died today on 04/25/18. How do they make this junk so it fails in exactly one year ? It has only been used in a RV parked inside a garage. No one uses or lives in the RV. Due to the fact it dumps water into the holding tank I no exactly how much water it has processed in one year (45 gallons ) . The company claims two year warranty but I am not holding my breath. I tend to research hard before purchase. Read the reviews and you will see there is little or no warranty. I new this going in but the size and weight sucked me in like the fool I am. Don't Make The Same Mistake I DidUpdate on 5/8/18 . So far I have made many phone calls to Ecoseb. People who answer seem to be very good at talking without giving any answers or help. Because I am one of those who will not quit. I was able to get to a website " to file my claim " again it seemed to bedesigned to make you quit the process. After completing that I have email and called several times. Next I am going to the Better Business Bureau. This company makes Amazon look really bad !!!!! I have been a Prime Member for years and buy almost everything possible from them. I always believed Amazon removed crooks and thieves from their site, sadly a big NO in this case. I need to rethink my purchases. I pay a 10-15 % premium to buy many things from Amazon because of their reputation of doing the right thing.Update 05/30/18Well over a month from first contact I got a email from Ecoseb. They want me to send in the unit so they test It ?? Leaving a RV in the southern US for over a month in the summer without a dehumidifier is not a serious option. I purchased a different replacement weeks ago and threw the broken one in the dump. I have no proof but believe the testing is just another way to pass the buck or to waste my time. Everything they have done has been designed to delay or make the purchaser give up. In my opinion it's simple. Unit has a two year warranty and it failed in less than a year. Why does it take 5 weeks to get a return email just to start the shipping and testing process.

This thing blows...really DRY air.
I purchased this along with a humidity monitor to measure how effective it would be at dehumidifying my home. I made the decision to invest in a dehumidifier after a long streak of very damp, cool, and humid weather that caused my home air to become noticeably heavy with moisture. I have severe allergies that have caused me to be susceptible to chronic sinusitis and asthma. After reading that dust mites thrive in high humidity I became sold to buying a dehumidifier. When selecting a dehumidifier I was concerned about electricity cost, efficiency, and noise, and so far this dehumidifier has blown me away with its ability to dry my 800 square foot house out when placed in front of the air return on the central HVAC. My house is new construction with thermal windows and is well sealed from weather drafts. I leave my central HVAC on recirculate so that my air is cleaned through my MERV 13 allergen filter constantly, and because of the high humidity outside I have mostly closed off my fresh air duct to control outdoor humidity coming into the house. When I unboxed this and started it up the humidity monitor said it was 70% humidity indoors, and after running it on turbo mode for three days it got my indoor humidity in the house down to 40%, and that's with rain showers outside consistent 95% humidity outdoors. As far as noise you can sleep with it in a bedroom on eco mode, and on turbo the fan makes only slightly more noise than my central HVAC blower, which isn't too bad in my case since I have it located next to the HVAC. As far as the tub, it could be a bit larger, because for those first three days it filled up in 4-5 hours, and now it is 7-8 before it needs to be emptied. It has also saved one of our cell phones after it went through the wash. Dried it out in a day.I have never been more satisfied or impressed by a small appliance than I have with this dehumidifier. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it.
