I was really scared when I got this book. Basically, I was dropping my life into the hands of a stranger,For a new way of eating. I was so fortunate to choose this one by Leanne Vogel. (I’ve already lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks)She thought of everything I could possible need for successful dieting. This seems to be a healthier version of the diet--she uses milk and cheese substitutions. The first ½ of the book is informational. The 2nd ½ is a collection of outstanding recipes. There are many good charts that reinforce the concepts she explains in easy to understand language. She’s environmentally aware and suggests the best Earth-considerate options for ingredients. There are questions to help decide which of her included diet plans will work best for you. She knows it can be scary and addresses your fears.The material and organization are really outstanding, and I think she really deserves an award for this book.There are so many color pictures—First medium sized pictures of the food groups, then big pictures with each recipe and little pictures of all the recipes at the very end. The features I liked best were: On her meal plan, each meal suggestion had the recipe page right there- you didn’t have to go to an index. Nutrient content is summarized as a daily total on her weekly-plan-calendar section, and individually with each recipe so you can bump it up or down to your own liking. (Also shows fat ratios.) She gives you options--You can be fixated on numbers or use another more relaxed approach. If something comes up—she’s got you covered with a section on things that you might encounter. I own a lot of cookbooks and this one is outstanding! The recipes have been delicious! Candy like a Mounds bar?!, Toasted marshmallow coconut treats? Cauliflower rice and cauliflower mac & cheese? These were new for me, but are very tasty and healthy! Almond flour crust is my new favorite. Ingredients are not exotic and expensive like I’ve seen in other keto books. Simple hamburger, eggs, chicken, chops, salad, flax seed muffins (all nondairy). There are a few fancy recipes for special occasions.) She’s even got recipes to make your own nut milks, and comparative alcohol consideration charts. The only problem I have is that the food is so good, people that aren’t dieting want a plate after one taste and raving how good it is. (What a great problem to have). It started a new way of using my kitchen. I never thought I’d be one of “those” organized cooks that prep and store meals but she explains exactly how to do it and she works leftovers in the meal plan so a lot of days you are simply reheating. It turned out to be easier than I imagined as she is also in tune with minimizing cooking effort and cleanup. I really appreciate that! I almost bought another book. but another reviewer said: “Get this one instead” And I’m so happy I did. I will pass on that same message—Get this one!Good luck.

Excelente, es muy completo está en inglés pero con un nivel medio puedes entenderlo perfectamente, trae recetas y planes yo logré bajar 16 kg. Aunque es difícil controlar el impulso de comer más.

Thorough and intuitive guide for the ketogenic lifestyle
I've been picking away at this book in my leisure and it has been a pretty cozy read. So far, I've gotten to the oil information and I've tried out some of the delicious recipes. This book is jam packed with thorough information and references. The graphics are cute and the summarizing after each chapter makes it super digestible and easy to refer back to. Tables for the win!I feel like you need to get to know Leanne's online presence before diving into this book, as she is definitely coming from a core community that she created online. And she definitely has a following. I would not have known or have bought the book, had I not followed her, watched some of her youtube videos and tried out some of her recipes. That's not to say this isn't an approachable book otherwise. I'm just saying, it's coming from a definite fan base in the keto community and it may be nice to get acquainted with her style online at first.At first impression, I had a bit of overwhelm with all the options and decisions that come with being introduced to keto and then the profiles that are discussed in the book. The other thing is the constant referring to online sources and back to her website - which I understand, but it's a bit annoying. I personally like to get books so I don't have to go on the internet all the time. So this may be a triggering book for people with attention problems and going on the internet.All that being said, Leanne's approach to keto is reassuring especially if you find you have started and might have come against some pitfalls, or you feel stuck. I really love her investigative approach, encouraging and empowering the reader to feel out their own choices. I'm very much all about the investigative approach and I need that empowerment personally. As some books can be so passionate about a certain way that they can get a bit blindsided by the fact that not everybody works that way and our psychology can make or break a diet in of itself. Leanne is very aware of this concept, and seems to take all types into mind.If you are new to ketogenic dieting, this is a good starter book. And if you already started, this is also a good place to refer back to. Keto is not an easy thing to navigate at first, but Leanne's tricks and material seems to cover a lot of basis so it doesn't have to be so tough. Overall, thumbs up! Tasty recipes, excellent information that hopefully won't go out of style too soon.

The keto bible
About 6 years ago I managed to lose 5 stone by following a low calorie, low fat diet. More astoundingly, I have kept it off. However, there has always been another 7lbs that I would love to drop but no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of it. It was suggested that my body is pretty good at maintaining and to get a different result I needed to do something completely different. This made sense so I started to look at keto but in all honesty, it scared me to death. I bought this book as it seemed pretty comprehensive. I read it over a week and decided that I just couldn't do it. I messed around for another week doing the same thing and expecting a different result. I then picked up the book again and decided that if I was going to do it, I needed to follow the plan to the letter. 12 weeks on and I am so pleased that I did. I lost the 7lbs easily. The most amazing outcome though is that people have commented on my "glow" and I know that my hair is thicker. I'm also full of energy and found it very easy to stick to over the Christmas period not putting on an ounce. I realise that this way of eating isn't for everyone. Certainly initially, it goes against everything that you think you know about nutrition, but if you really want to try, this book is amazing. There is an awful lot of detail but that is one of it's strengths. There isn't one query that I've had that I haven't been able to find in this book. There are plenty of recipes that on the whole are pretty tasty; there are a few that I couldn't take but I'd say every cookbook would be the same. It isn't easy but then you are trying to change the habits of a lifetime. Stick to the plan, do what the book tells you and you will start to get results, hopefully without the side effects that people often encounter.
