Please Trust The Reviews--this product is not worth the money.
As a home renovator with moderate skill, I felt comfortable tackling this installation project for a new shower in my bathroom. I followed all of the directions including the use of a modified thinset product for setting the pan on my level bathroom floor, using the correct amount of thinset per manufacturer recommendations, and after four days with weights on the pan, it still creaked. I pulled everything up and the pan failed to adhere to the underlying mortar. This pan could certainly be better engineered for the money--like holes through the ribbing for the thinset to lock it down...but if you have the slightest bubble under the pan, the pan will not appropriately set and you will be set for failure in your tile. Now I'm out $800 on a project I'm doing myself to save money. For just $300, I could have had a specialist dry pack the shower pan with waterproofing membrane, etc., which is what I ended up paying for.Do not buy this pan. Trust the reviews (which I unfortunately did not thoroughly read until I discovered the creaking). This is not a sturdy pan nor is it appropriate for DIY-er. Unless you install these day in and day out and have a failproof way of setting tile on a preformed foam pan like this, you are wasting money. Also, like everyone else states, they do not provide enough mortar for the bed AND the sides of the pan, especially if you're hoping to backbutter (which you should be doing for large format tile, which is what this pan supposedly supports). It's a total scheme. If I could give 0 stars I would. Look at consumer reports. Do the research. Do NOT purchase this product. There are better, more affordable options out there.

Shower pan challenge
This is not for the timid. If you like a challenge here it is... The opening has to be right, the plumbing has to be exact make a template i used a sheetrock template!!!. Meet the truck and inspect the product before acepting it. It damages easily, dont let it drop or ding the cornersGet a 1”x1” pvc rh trim corner cut and gorilla glue it to the underside of the curb cavity for future door support. At least it makes me feel better than foam holding up a 200lb door assembly.Use S type mortar for the bed(brick mortar). NOT thinset. Order an extra package of the tile ready epoxy tile set. Sand all your fitings and test fit have a pry board under the pan when u test fit, be gentle and realize how straight it must be to fit a 2” pipe in a 2“ hole. If you are in a slab get a 6” pipe and use it as a dam around your drain fiting you will need some flexing when u set the pan. Note the gaps along the wall during test fit and fill with carbord strapping or shave the studs probably both this is important to have rigid and square during the ‘hover stage.’ Tuck-in any protrusions like fibrrglass paper or staples etc. You can sand the outside of the pan if it flairs at the top just a little. Just before instaling Run some caulking along the joists then smooth with your finger to prevent a potential for squeeking. On a slab I used a tile mortar ‘rubber mat’ to apply the s type mortar 1-1/2” thick thats 3 bags 180 lbs..make a concrete form out of 1-1/2 X 1/2to5/8 to keep the correct gap along the wall. Once you compact the milkshake think s-type mortar remove the concrere form( hope it holds its form) and wrestle gently the pan horozontally hovering down the wall connecting the 2” drain line first, use a pry wood inside the drain for that last bit of drain pipe alignment. have at least 2ea 8” x1”x 3’ stomping boards to embed the drain and morter from the drain to the opp wall. A 4’ and 2’ level. stomp to level at approx 3/8” from floor. Pushing the material toward the open room Metal flashing to the kick boards you installed flush before you started. Add silicone behind the pan flashing to prevent water from the bathtub effect.Good luck, may the force be with you. ( you will understand when u are finished)2months of planning 3 hrs to install but i took my time. Once you mix the mortar you are committed to finishing. I used a bucket and rented a massive mix drill.Congratulations you have a shower pan with no holes, folds , gaps, or glue holding it together. Epoxy the tile. Thinset wont stick to this stuff

Easier than a pan build but, not a great product.
1. Not rigid enough2. Drain cover is not replaceable with what’s on the shelf at your box store.3. Not sold on the design of bottom for adhering to mudbed. Could have channels to distribute mud better instead of little wells. 4. Requires epoxy grout which, no box stores are carrying any longer.

Very heavy duty
Took my tub out of my master bath, put in a walk in shower, I read lots of reviews, and I was a little scared about the purchase cuz it was a lot of money, but I would buy it again, very strong, good quality, it’s just what I needed, my house is old and the plumbing had to be adjusted to put in the new shower pan , but that was to be expected

Bad product.
Installation instructions don't and can't work for the 3' x 5' pan. Check the blogs for installation. Will never buy again, waste of time.

it arrived broken and unusable
It would most likely have been a great product but for $800, to arrive broken was ridiculous. I am working on getting a replacement as we speak. will update.
