Great entry salt flats light tackle rod.
Great salt falts rod for spinning reels. I use it with 10lb braid and it handles beautifully. Very strong rod, I was into a 20+ pound black drum that was like a tire on the ocean floor and it kept this rod bent over the whole time for probably 15+ minutes or so and all the eyelets are intact and the road held up just fine for a two-piece even under tremendous load for such a long time and torquing all over the place as the fish moved around and dragged me around. Commands a long cast with light tackle. Very sensitive. Great for trolling too if you want to toss a floating cork and troll slow.Inexpensive and compact (2 piece). I went with this Berk instead of an Ugly stick simply because I *adore* cork handles and the two tone caught my eye. I looked at several cork handled rods and ultimately after trying a few ended up with this one. I bought a few more after this one and I like all of them.I use 3000 & 4000 series spinning reels on these and they handle the 10lb braid wonderfully, 60 foot casts are effortless on my spoons.Image of two of these rods out in use in the flats.

Nice rod, but grip broke first time tightening down on a reel
Rod was still usable, but be careful to not tighten the reel seat too much. I think it is a bad design flaw. The material should be stronger on the forend so it won't crack when tightened. I would return it, but we didn't use it until 9 months after purchase, so I doubt I can.

On the border for quality
Bought 3, first time used 1 broke other 2 doing good. Cost effective not so much

The rod looks good, but not as sensitive or responsive as I hoped. Delivery was quick and packaged very good.
