Works great
Works great! I have two of these for my skinks tank, each plugged in to a thermostat. No issues so far, just make sure you have the right sized bulbs.

I already have 5 for my reptiles
These domes work great! I use them for lights as well as ceramic bulb heaters. They are all hooked up to timers and dimmers, and they keep my habitats....well, habitable. The wire hook/loop on top is a nice bonus to hang these up on the wall when I need to remove the lid of my enclosures. There is an on/off switch along the power cord, and the ceramic socket gives me peace of mind when using heating fixtures.A WORD OF CAUTION:These are rated up to 100 watts. So if you're buying ceramic heat emitters, please buy a dome that is appropriately rated. The life of your animal and the safety of your home is not worth saving a few bucks on a piece of electrical equipment.

My Dragons are enjoying it
I had one just like it been using for nearly 6 years but in our new home the kids like to sit in front of the window on the North facing window and on the South facing window so they can look out at the world. So of course I was moving it from one room to the other~ I thought about getting another one and finally did and it makes it so much easier~ They can't go outside much in the Winter but at least they can sit and dream and see what's going on in the world~ But yesterday it was in the mid 50's out on the Kansas Prairie so I took them outside to hang out in their Small habitat and then after I got some chores done, I put them out on the grass to run around and get some exercise and bask in the sun. Zen found a spot on my neighbors walkway with his back against the Sun and Goldie was on a paver with her back against the sun sucking in some nourishment~ Today and tomorrow we're going to have some 60's from the sun so you can bet they'll be out there running around and enjoying it all before the weather takes it's usual dip down to old-town~ You can tell from the photo they're real swingers. We do that often all summer long, sit out on the deck as the sun goes down gently swinging back and forth~ Yes they even sleep on the pillow next to me~ I've had Zen for 6 years now, Goldie came to us 2 years ago, I got her from a lady who apparently didn't know Animals have feelings~ Its like a match made in Loveland, they're always wanting to be touching, its a love story that anyone with a heart would envy~

Nice Fixture...but be careful with Ceramic Heat Emitters
After buying this fixture I read on some other websites that although its ceramic socket is rated to 100 Watts, the manufacturer says not to use ceramic heat emitters (and it says this on the box too...but not on Amazon!). Supposedly because its a small deep fixture and the heat could build up too much and go back into the wires. Dang it, because thats what I bought 3 of them for. I know someone who uses a 60 Watt ceramic heat emitter in this, like I wanted to do, so I carefully went ahead. The temperature with my temp gun measured at the bell never got hotter than the bell of the fixture I have a 100 Watt Mercury Vapor Bulb in (these things get hot!), about 145 F in a 65 F house, and after a week of use I feel pretty secure that its not going to cause any problems. I wouldn't recommend putting more than a 60 Watt heat emitter in there though. Nice look (matches well with my regular size deep dome fixtures), love the secure hanging hook (unlike those stupid clamp on ones), and they also work awesome with the ZooMed clamp on covers (5.5 inch...I use these with heat emitters) and the lamp stands (which you really need so you can vertically adjust the bulb to get the right temperature...you can't use dimmers/thermostats on Mercury Vapor Bulbs, and it wears out a bulb fast if you use it on a heat emitter...plus its just another thing that can fail and then maybe overheat your reptile). Only reason I give it a 4 not a 5 is the surface scratches easily (1 of mine actually came scratched), has a lip at the bottom that catches dust pretty bad (but I think they need it like this to use the clamp on covers), and they come with these stupid safety stickers on the surface that take forever to get all the adhesive off. I think this is a very safe product and highly recommend it for use with light bulbs up to 100 Watts and Ceramic Heat Emitters up to 60 Watts.

Amazing Lighting, But Be Cautious On Where You Put It
I love these things a lot. I know people get concerned about fire hazards when heat bulbs are put in, but they seem fairly safe to me. The only issue I had with them was me accidentally putting them on a plastic table for too long and it melted the table and put a hole in it. But that’s just because heat couldn’t escape like when it’s on a wire cage or held above. Otherwise, they do their job and have been perfect for what I need. Leopard gecko is pretty happy with the warmth it provides!

Great for the money and durable
I bought a Flukers prior to this one and it feel apart in less than a week. I dropped this one once and it still works. I got bent up which the metal is flimsy but hey it still works. The depth is just enough for mini bulbs, I use it for a uvb zilla bulb for months now on a timer and no issues. I would buy again

A good price, a good light, but not great for hanging above tank
To start with a rant about pet stores...is there any place where you get ripped off less...Not sure...But I digress. These are nice dome lights. They are deep enough to fit most basking bulbs, but they are too shallow for some of the newer CFL UVB lights. They hold up to intense heat and I like the powder coated color better than the aluminum lights I had before. My biggest disappointment with the light is the hanger at the top. The lights are made with a wire loop to hang them above the tank, but the power cord is relatively stiff. and it pulls the light off center on the hanger. ie the light is rarely pointed directly down into the tank as the cord pulls it in one direction or another. This could be fixed with a more flexible cord or a heavier bottom rim on the lamp to pull it more vertical. They're still as good as most of the lamp domes I have used, but could be better.
