White's Woods Hard Maple Lumber 3/4"x2"x12" - 4 Pack

Beautiful pieces of wood...flawless and fast shipping

I am really glad this popped up as a suggestion. I was buying knife scale wood and had the 5 inch long pieces in my cart. This was about twice the price and about 8 times as much wood. 3/4 thick as opposed to 3/8 4 inch wide instead of 1 1/2. and 12 inches long instead of 5. I cut a couple pieces off, and didn't even resaw. I have so much left I'm going to use some in a box and some in a cutting board. Buy this pack. The wood looks just as good so I think the selection is nice also.

I bought this wood to fill in some HUGE humbucking pickup cavities on a '70s "lawsuit" bass that I'm rebuilding. I didn't want a huge dead air space around the new single-coil Jazz bass pickups, so I used this maple to carve plugs and epoxied them in. From there, it was a simple matter to rout proper mounting holes for the new pickups. 'This wood is really hard, but it carves, drills, sands, and routs well. Not cheap, but nevertheless well worth the money.

Cut well and untreated as advertised

I took a bit of a risk in buying expensive hardwood online. I needed small pieces for my project. This is a good grade of wood with nice figure at a very fair price.

Wood is fine, nothing wrong with it wish it came in half inch but other than that its good wood

Overall, the lumber I received was in good condition; the lumber had been planed and jointed for nice, square stock. However, one of the boards I received had a pretty noticeable defect. I originally planned to hide it on the backside of a simple picture frame I was making but then forgot to check it during glue-up. Shame on me for failing in that respect, but for the price paid per board foot, I would've expected there to be a less flagrant flaw in the lumber. If you look at the bottom right part of the frame, you'll see the defect I'm referring to.

I order the Purple Heart to make a frame. These pieces came planed and ready for any project. The had a nice purple color and after a light coat of poly the deep purple color came through. This is a hard wood so drilling screws holes first can prevent wood splitting.
