Silly concept, amazing execution; good luck going back to anything else.
Preamble: A $40 leather mousepad sounds like the craziest and most self-indulgent product ever conceived. Bought one just to be sure, then ordered another one a day after the first arrived.Review: There is almost nothing I would want a mousepad to do better. It is quiet, unlike those scrape-scrape, 'gamer-oriented' metal pads. It is comfortable and fairly soft. So far the two I own have been durable; the only wear and tear has been some 'polish' on the portion of the pad I use most, and this has not adversely affected the experience. The bottom of the pad offers exactly the right amount of grip, which means the pad doesn't slide around when you don't want it to, but is easy to move with just the mouse hand if/when you when you want it to. I think it looks great, and I'm not one of those 'leather guys' who enjoys leather jackets or even most leather car interiors.Caveat: The "almost" above is because this mousepad is pretty easy to bend. That can be a feature if you want it to curve over the edge of a sharp desk to insulate your wrist. It can also be a bug if you want to rest the mousepad on, say, a plush blanket on a couch. So if your main goal with a mousepad is to have a firm surface that let's you use a mouse on soft/uneven surfaces, this is probably not the pad for you.Disclosure/Context: I bought two of these for myself and have owned them for five months. I'm not a connoisseur of mousepads. Cannot weigh in on whether this thing is optimized for a certain DPI/sensor tech/use case. I use mine for work and gaming (including FPS). My mice are nice Logitechs (MX Master at work, G602 at home) but I haven't cross-shopped a ton of other mice, though I have tried cheap mousepads and expensive metal ones. I first bought this mousepad for home use because the coffee table makes too much noise when a mouse runs over it. I then bought one for work because my desk has a sharp angle on it that annoys my wrist.Summary: These things are expensive, but for most use cases they're genuinely remarkable. It would be very hard to go back to another mousepad. I keep these things in the back of my mind as good office gifts for coworkers.

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now. No turning back.I received it as part of the desk set so many of my thoughts are there but it is a very nice pad and just really enjoy having it on the desk. The company politely asked if I could give feedback on the individual items in the set which I don’t mind doing since I think they are a very nice product. These are my thoughts on the leather reiterated from the desk set review. This is top grade leather - a cow has to be royalty to be this leather. Well not really it is indifferent to the bovine social structure but this leather is taken from the 'genuine' leather part of the cow which is below the full and top grain leather areas. This is the expensive part known for longevity, perfect look and fibre structure, and long wearing nature. I personally never have an issue with top grain as I don't mind seeing a scar - but for a purest leather connoisseur this is the stuff you want and it usually has a price tag to match because it is in high demand. The mouse pad itself - To the touch it is so soft and smooth - your mouse really glides along the pad effortlessly. It really is a fine mouse pad and sure it isn’t for everyone but I think its exceptional.Product provided for review - its just my opinion.

Love my new mousepad!
I got this mousepad a few weeks ago and I love it!My mouse is picky - if the pad is too reflective or too rough it doesn't track well. This mousepad is perfect. Not too "shiny" but not too rough - it's just right. It also sits perfectly flat on my desk and doesn't slide around when I'm using the mouse. The stitching and materials are first class and it's just nice to have a genuine artisanal product on the desk instead of a mass produced plastic dime-store pad. It should last a lifetime and the leather will wear in and look better with age.I am going to get the full desk set soon. Highly recommend as a gift or thank you present.

LOVE IT. Is there a "6 Star" option?
I just received my mouse pad in the mail and I can honestly say it is even better than I thought it would be! The build quality is phenomenal and the leather quality is top of the line as well. It has proven to not only be a piece of convenience but also something that is visually inspiring. Every modern creative should own this as well as the keyboard pad. I look forward to picking up more products from Franklin Made as they are released. They also have quick shipping and extremely quick responses to questions. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
