Nice camera!
Another UPDATE Mar 2017: I have had this for almost a year and have had no problems. Just some rain drops on the lens sometimes. I have bought another one for my other truck and it works very well. The quality of the picture is real good and clear. Even the night picture is good considering the pixels in it. This camera is better than most stock/factory cameras that come installed on newer vehicles. One thing I noticed when I was installing the new one on my truck was the switch to reverse the picture was not well protected from the elements. I just wrapped a piece of electrical tape around it to keep any water out that may get in. I have not had any problems with the old one but this was just precautionary. In my case I was unable to put the switch inside the vehicle so it had to stay under the trucks, tucked up as far as I could get them. The tape will keep dirt and water out.Update Oct 2016: Ive had this for about 6 months now. It is still working perfect. I have been through car washes and traveled in the rain and it has not effected it in any way. I have had several comments on how clear the picture is and how bright it is at night with just standard reverse lights. I have seen more expensive cameras that do not have as good as picture quality as this one does. Very nice and would buy again.Works great! Picture is clear during the day, slightly pixely at night but was to be expected in such low light, however I can still see very well what is around me in very dark conditions. I have standard reverse lights and could see fine on the screen. I shopped around for several months before I decided to give this one a try. Works perfect for my usage. Even helps backing up to a trailer. Makes it much easier than trying to guess where the trailer tongue is at.

Very good in daylight... so-so in low light
I installed this on my Honda Ridgeline. I had a local stereo shop install it since I did not want to mess with it. They forgot to reverse the video but I was able to easily crawl under and flip the switch to fix it myself. The video is very sharp in daylight but kinda fuzzy for night. Low light use isn't the best but daylight use is very good. It has built in guide lines and a somewhat annoying "STOP" text but that can be removed by clipping a small wire. It does tend to hold water drops on the lens after a rain or heavy dew, but you can wipe it off easily. The pros outweigh the cons on this one. It works well and I've been happy with it.

Cheap.. Worked for a while.
Worked good for a while. Then image suddenly mirrored. So now its backwards. I changed the setting on my stereo to get it rightwards but the "stop" on the guidelines was still backwards. The switch by the camera to reverse the image simply doesn't work. I believe that's the cause of the problem.

Added to a 2006 Ford Escape
I purchased this item to go along with my ARECORD AR430 mirror. As this is my first backup mirror adventure, I went with the same manufacturer to limit possible compatibility issues. There were none, and I feel you can safely use alternate brands for your desired view range etc.My target vehicle is a 2006 Ford Escape.Installation instructions, pretty much none. You can view the diagram they provide and easily figure out what goes where. But beware that the power cable will need to be extended. My Ford Escape has two latches, one for the main door and the other for the window. You'll need to drill a 1/4" hole in the plastic between these two latches to feed the video cable into the door. All the wiring can be hidden inside the door, but note that the switch box they provide to change how the camera is used will not be accessible once you put your door back together. Test before putting back any trim pieces you've removed during the installation process. To keep anything from making noises, I used electrical tape to hold tight the video cable to the inside of the door, then reassembled the door. For the little switch box thing, I wrapped it with some bubble wrap.Wiring to the reverse light was simple, but I did have to drill a 1/4" hole through the body behind the tail light assembly to feed the two wires through.Pros:Nice, compact camera. Very clear.Quick response to the mirror when vehicle placed in reverse.Blinking red 'stop' line is part of the backup guide lines.Cons:Power cable not nearly long enough, and for a rear hatch use, the switch box can't be accessed.Unsure of the angle of view, 140?Camera can still be moved up/down even after tightening up the lock screw.

Failed After Almost Four Months
I ordered this camera in January and had it installed in February, so it had been in operation for almost four months. All of a sudden, this camera has died. I am not getting any signal to my touch screen radio when my truck is put into reverse. I had this camera professionally installed and my installer went over all of the wiring to check for loose connections and he could not find any. There are no loose connections. Both the camera and backup warnings have failed. So I am left with a useless piece of junk that I paid a pretty penny to have it installed. I do not like posting negative reviews, but this product is now useless to me. If you are looking for a reliable rear backup camera with radar, I would stay away from this product and look elsewhere. The reliability of this backup camera is poor!!!!

Great camera but the mirror image switch was boken
The camera appeared to be well made. I like that it mounts behind the license plate with just the camera peaking over the top. It has a nice small connector, so the cable can fit through a small hole from the outside to the inside of the car. There was enough cable provided to connect to a display in the front of the car. I tested it with a small cheap display LotFancy® 4.3 inch Foldable Car LCD TFT Rear View Reverse Monitor Screen for Car Parking before trying to install it. The picture was good, but I discovered that the switch from normal to mirror view didn't work. It was stuck in normal view. If it had been mirror, I would have installed it anyway. Also, the instructions aren't clear about how to turn off the distance grid. If the quality control had been better, and they hadn't shipped me this broken unit, I would have given 5 stars

Clear but......
The camera reverses the image after a while...at least mine does...There is a switch to put it back...I have not tried it yet...This is the second one...Sent back first...thought was a defect but No...Bottom line who has time to go back in and locate the wiring after you have installed to get to the switch....And why is this happening in the first place?
