Truth in Love
I love all of Jon Bloom’s books! He is rich in faith and openly shares his love for Jesus with beautiful illustrations of God’s wisdom. And he does it in ways that are thought provoking and gentle.

Can't Recommend Highly Enough
I can't recommend this book highly enough. Because there are 31 chapters, I planned to read a chapter a day for a month, but I was challenged continually and would often spend several days chewing on a chapter. The really excellent thing about the way Bloom writes is that he sounds so very...normal. He doesn't attempt to impress with big words or seminary-level theology, but the concepts are deep and still very well written. He seems to be a man of deep humility, great integrity, and honest experience of walking with and loving God through the normal life stuff we normal folks face. I loved, loved this book. Thank you, Mr. Bloom.

Don't follow your heart; follow Jesus.
Super helpful book!!! Life is painful and full of troubles we don't understand and struggle to get a grip on. This book is a great "re-calibrator" to train our hearts and thoughts to follow God and trust Him when life is hard and we can't see the purpose in suffering and struggle. I can't recommend it highly enough! Short readings, easy to get through and good thoughts to chew on. I'm still reading it - -and going back and rereading what I've read. Jon Bloom points us back to Scripture again and again. God's Word is true and our hearts need to be brought back to that Word constantly. Thankful to the Lord for this book!

Wow, you mean we shouldn't just do what feels good?
No, we shouldn't, though we hear it from our culture all the time. God's laws are there for our protection and cheap pleasures actually cost a lot. I was looking for a book on the Bible and emotions. This is a good one. We are supposed to discipline our hearts, not give in to our sinful desires. This author lets you know the how and why of doing battle with spiritual forces and mastering the flesh for our own good. I recommend.

Easy read, i usee it like a devotional.
The chapters were short enough to read as part of my morning personal devotion. I specifically liked the chapter on when God's will isn't clear (chapter 22). It helped me answer a number of questions I have had over the years and shed some extra light on one of my favorite verses, Romans 12:2. I will continue to read portions of it in my devotions as it adds extra insight in understanding the word of God.

Thank God!
How I thank God for the precious truth in His Word! Mr. Bloom directs us again and again to choose to embrace what God Himself tells us rather than what feels right to us. It seemed like every chapter highlighted something deep in my nature that needed to be confronted, brought into the light, and set right by His Spirit.
