BEST
Trust me when I say I have scoured the internet, the amazon, the ebay and the local stores looking for the best table lens.NOTHING touches this one. Best small purchase of the year. Seriously.Awesome design, bright, easy, huge lens and strong magnification. Nothing even comes close. The lens is clear and big. I did not notice any optical defects, but then again, I am not looking for a telescope quality lens. It is awesome for my purpose - to look at small things. The lens is close to the maximum usable size. While looking through it, sometimes I have a parallax issue and I have to look away for a second. This only happens with big lenses and this is why you don't see like 10 inch lenses for viewing with both eyes.If you are looking for a powerful lamp, this isn't the one. The led in this one is bright, but it is nothing like a table lamp of course. I happen to like this, because I use this lens to look at tiny modern printed circuits boards, so I actually need moderate brightness. But it not bad by any means, just not designed to be a jupiter. So, this is the only side you need to be careful about if you need a powerful light at the same time.I have shown this one to few people and they all want one, because, funny enough, everyone seem to have the same background of only finding bad lenses.I say try this one, you have tried everything already. There is very high chance that you will call this one a keeper.

Quick to assemble, bright and a great magnifier
I use this for doing small work that my older eyes can't see well any more. Great for me.

Gooseneck and Magnifying lens connection
This is a very well-made lamp with a heavy base. It will not tip over for sure. So easy to put together until you get to the connection of the gooseneck to the lens. The manual just says attach the lens to the gooseneck. But it does not tell you that you have to remove the top of the gooseneck. It looks like part of the gooseneck. After struggling and struggling to somehow attach them, I suspected that maybe the top was supposed to come off. I pulled and pulled but it just stayed put. I was ready to return it when my grandson stopped by. After looking at the picture in the manual, he pulled hard on the top of the gooseneck, And off it came! The lens slipped right into the opening. So that’s the secret of attaching the lens to the gooseneck. A bit more detailed instruction would have been nice. I know I will enjoy this lamp now, with its large 5 inch lens

I love this wonderful lamp with magnifier!
I have been searching for some time for a lamp like this for myself to help me for repairing the electronic boards. My wife surprised me and gave me this lamp as a wonderful gift. This lamp looks artistic and sturdy enough for this kind of jobs and the light is bright and I am is extremely happy. I highly recommended this to anyone looking for a flexible light with a magnifier.

Difficult to assemble
Received incomplete or faulty. Directions indicate to “insert the base of the gooseneck into the slot on the magnifier base. Press until you hear an audible “click.” No click, will not set unless glued to the base. There were loose parts in the box, a spring, a very small black cap and a square thingy but could not tell where they went. Light not a bright as I had hoped for. Very disappointed in this purchase.

Dim light, weird magnify
Bought this for doing seed beads on dress alteration. It was difficult to find the correct position to benefit from the magnification without things getting blurry. The light is not very bright and I often have to pair it with another lamp.

Good for closeup Work!
I use this for sewing projects when I need more light and magnification. Thinking of getting another for reading recipes in the kitchen. Good for the money too.

Joly Caper 8X lamp
I really love this lamp for doing nails, but i have to admit it lacks neck length. The company has to at least add 3 more inches (guesstimate) and if they do, then some foot weight to the lamp will need to be added.( I don't really care about weight, i am looking for functionality and serves my use.STARS: Could be a little brighter; ease of use/well the neck is not long enough, as for lightweight/i don't really care about weight. So it is a good lamp but the major issue for me is the goose neck, it really needs to be longer.Still satisfied with my purchase because i can see much better with it.
