All plastic but good enough...
First of all I only had this set for a few days so I really can't give you an in depth review just my first impressions. The set arrived in 2 days due to my Prime account, thanks Amazon. What is more amazing is that it was delivered on a Sunday ! Second of all the set is smaller than it looks in the picture. Good thing I got the 9 inch instead of the 7 inch, because even at 9 inches the screen is not that big. That's because manufacturers usually give you the diagonal measurement of the screen so in a way it's like smoke and mirrors. Not only is it pretty compact it is very light. The reason its so light is because it's all plastic and I mean the cheap plastic you see on cheap toys costing less than $5. To surround all that sophisticated electrical equipment with cheap plastic boggles the mind ? My set came with silver dials and does not look like the one pictured. The silver dials and buttons make them easier to see and gives the set a more "expensive" look. When you press the buttons they make a loud clunk due to a lack of padding or anything. Everything seems to work, but when you press the menu to adjust the screen or some other setting, there is no way to exit out unless you use the remote control. The menu blocks everything you were looking at. That remote control is really fancy and does not look cheap like the rest of the set. The good thing is that the picture is really good once you find a steady connection, however depending on the angle the highlights tend to blow out and everything looks like a High-Key photograph. You can fix this by tilting down the screen further away from you. Too far a tilt and the image starts to bronze out and everything starts looking real wacky. I picked up about 7 channels with the antenna it came with, so I hooked it up to my Terk antenna($65/5 years ago) and it picked up a total of 15 channels. 5 of them being All-Spanish channels. Well at least I was able to pick up NBC which has a station about 2 miles from my home. I could not pick up ABC, or CBS though. Again with the Terk antenna the picture looks really good, but not as good as my old Analog picture, 9 inch TV from another manufacturer I had for 5 long years until it finally went dead a few weeks ago. Still for an LCD it looks pretty good. That old TV was rubberized and looked way more rugged, I still thought it looked pretty cheap though , until I bought this one ! I have not really checked out the CD/DVD player, but first impressions is that it makes a whirring sound when booting up. I hate to nit pick, but along with the all-plastic housing the unit comes with a really, really short 2.5 foot AC/DC cord. With a cord that short, the unit is not portable at all, but I guess you can always purchase an extension cord if you need it . Now the good, the swivel screen works and the sound is pretty good, much better than my old TV that sounded like some ants rioting. So far this is all I have on this unit. I really hope I don't drop it which is how I broke the last one. If it lasts longer than 6 months, maybe I'll update this Review and talk about the CD/DVD. Another question mark is that this TV gets really hot. At first I thought I was blocking the meager vents in the back, but NO this is how this TV operates. Too bad I don't live in Minnesota anymore I could use it to warm my up gloves before going out. Honestly this TV deserves a 3.5 in my opinion, but there are not that many choices out there so I gave it a 4. It seems like the same 9" TV is selling, but under a different brand with some small minor differences. Unfortunately, its the only thing selling in this size and price range, unless you want to get a Sony which cost 2 to 3 times as much...

Decent DVD/TV with many features
Like many others I was looking for an all-in-one device to use during power outages. I found myself "on-the-fence" after reading the reviews here but decided to make the purchase anyway. My review is only based on having this DVD/TV combo for one day but I believe I tested everything except using it in the car. Two small issues were a dead battery in the remote and the antenna adapter was missing. I happened to have the battery and purchased the antenna adapter at a local Radio Shack for $6.00.As others have indicated, the sound is tinny and louder when watching TV compared to a DVD. I didn't find the DVD volume too bad, though. The maximum volume is 20 and I had it at 15 at the highest but I was home with no noise. I solved the volume issue by connecting my Jensen SMPS-650 bluetooth speakers
Jensen Portable Bluetooth Wireless Rechargeable Speaker for iPod iPad iPhone and all Mobile Devices
.1. TV: I tried the included antenna as well as two others I own and received practically the same channels. unfortunately, the my favorite channel, ABC channel 7 does not come in. At least there are 10 or so other channels I can choose. The channel scan does not take long. I scanned near a window to try and get the most channels and also attached the magnet base to something metal; it does help.2. DVD/CD: I tested a commercial video and one I copied to a DVD-RW and both worked without any problem and looked good on the screen. I did not hear any noise coming from the spinning spindle. It was quiet.3. USB/SD slot: I have a lot of data on my 32gb usb flash drive so it did take awhile for the data to appear but everything appeared and was able to watch downloaded TV series videos. Next, I inserted to an SD card and viewed my photos. Again, with no problem. When viewing photos, the device has built-in transitions for fading in and out of each photo. I haven't checked to see if you can change the timing between each photo.4. A/V In: using the included A/V cable, I connected the cables to my cable set box and plugged the other end into the audio out and switched to device to the A/V function and was able to watched all cable channels. On a whim I used a set of iPhone A/V cables and connected them to the included A/V cable; again audio out. I went to the iPhone video app and could view the videos on the DVD player.5. A/V out: to watch a DVD on a larger TV, use the included A/V cables, and connect one end to the A/V out and the other end to the A/V connection on the TV. the DVD player worked well, however, as another reviewer mentioned, the sound was also coming from the DVD speakers as well as the TV. To solve this issue, I turned the manual volume contro located on the front right side of the device and now only the TV speakers are on. There is a button on the front of the DVD below the screen to turn off the LCD screen. You have to press and hold it down until the DVD screen goes blank. This does not the larger TV screen. All in all, despite the DVD volume, and missing antenna adapter, I found the Envizen DVD/TV better than expected. For my purposes of using this device when there are power outage, I feel this will work out fine. I will continue to test and use to make sure no other issue come up.I added some photos of the packaging, the DVD/TV itself and screen displays of videos and TV.
