Flexible tool for working through stressful situations
First, I would like the readers of my review to know that I have taken the “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” and “Tiny Habits” courses taught by the author during the Fall of 2019 in Sacramento, CA. When I heard the book was being released, I volunteered to post an Amazon Review. This book appeals to my problem-specific approach to managing stress because each of 100 meditations has a fairly repeatable structure. The collection of meditations is broadly categorized in a way the reader can locate helpful meditations based on the type of stress being experienced. It can be picked up and scanned as a reference or it can be read as a regular practice of becoming aware of approaches to reducing stress.I've started practicing a handful of the meditations, some of which have led me through some profound realizations (e.g., Clear Decision-Making," aimed at becoming clearer on what we want). Some of the meditations are easily used while others can offer a challenge that yield benefits in according to our effort and commitment. Depending on how well we can remember the process for each of the meditation process, it may help to record and playback or Some are really easy to pick up and practice at first glance while others require a bit of rehearsal.Definitely a helpful resource!

Lovely guide to mindfulness meditation
If you're ready to start the new year by truly caring for yourself, you've found the right book. Denise Dempsey's Mindfulness Meditations for Stress is filled with delightful opportunities to practice being in the present moment throughout the day and in all sorts of situations. The more we are able to practice mindfulness, the better we will be able to respond skillfully (rather than reactively) to stress. There are foundational meditations to calm the mind and the body (sitting meditation, body scan, movement, sensory), as well as brief practices to fit into your day whenever you are able. These opportunities range from the seemingly mundane (waiting in line) to the profound (coping with a terminal diagnosis). Dempsey's lovely approach to mindfulness meditation reminds us that it is a very creative and enjoyable process.

Good for teaching someone else
Great book but it's the type of book that you need someone else to read the mediations to you. How else can you close your eyes and meditate with the wording unless you know it all by heart. This book is more for helping someone else meditate rather than solo mediation practices

How to Develop Your Meditation Superpower!
Author, Denise Dempsey, is a seasoned teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and meditation. She has created a gem of a book that is clear, simple and well-written. It’s perfect for both the novice and the experienced meditator. The book addresses key concepts related to stress and 100 mindfulness meditations that can help us to become more aware and skillful in how we respond to stress. Each meditation is described on one page and contains an overview, recommended time to allow for the practice, and an outline of the steps involved. What Denise gives the reader is not only a way for receiving immediate relief, but also options for piecing together a daily practice that suites our individual needs and benefits our long-term health and well-being. Aside from meditations to calm the mind and body, you’ll find ones that address what we experience in our daily lives – procrastination, difficult communication, chronic pain, anxiety, our inner critic, to name a few. There are also lovely meditations to help you start and end your day as well as ones to deal with phases of life – parenting calming, aging gracefully. Especially in these times where we are face to face with uncertainty, the meditations give us something tangible and specific that supports our ability to cope, enhance our lives, and strengthen our resilience. As a life coach, I highly recommend this wonderful resource.

Pearls for everyone in this book!
I have been a student and practitioner of mindfulness meditation with Denise Dempsey since 2009. Denise embodies mindfulness and strives to help her students and community. What a gift is this book that she has written! It is a potent and authentic extract of years of wisdom and experience from teaching thousands of students about mindfulness as well as her own practice. The range of mindfulness techniques presented in this book, developed from ancient meditative and contemplative traditions through modern neuroscience, provide tools for each of us to become less reactive, more resilient, calmer, and more at peace. There are 'pearls' in "Mindfulness Meditations for Stress" for everyone. I hope you will seek them out and find them.I received a free copy of this book from the publisher, but it does not influence my review in any way.
