The Complete Sermons of Jonathan Edwards

Paperback review. Hardcover looks real nice
There are actually three editions and they differ a bit. The kindle edition has all Edwards' works and apparently is not indexed or have a TOC. I have the paperback which does have a table of contents. The print is 9 point and much easier to read than the Banner of Truth edition (which also has all his works), but this paperback does not have all his works, only the sermons. The hardcover is new and has 10 point type, just right, and a scripture index which sounds supremely useful. The paperback has no scripture index so consider carefully

Not Indexed
Well, I guess there's got to be a first...just wish it wasn't me.Plus: Everything by Edwards in one (cheap) collectionBig Minus: Not indexed...even remotely. No table of contents, no search, no nothing. With almost 400K pages, good luck trying to find anything you're looking for. Also, the words and lines break at odd points because it's not formatted properly to flow continuously from line to line. Sections, chapters, etc all occur at random points on the page w/ no separation.Update: Can tab through the following using direction pad (major jumps only, still no other indexing)- An Unpublished Essay on the Trinity- Freedom of the Will- Religious Affections- Select Sermons of Jonathan Edwards- Treatise on Grace- Works of J. Edwards (Vol 1)- Works of J. Edwards (Vol 2)

Heavy but Thought Provoking
I had heard that Jonathan Edwards may be the premier American theologian. I am unqualified to say, but I can say that I have gained from his insights and profited from his thought. Some of his writing I honestly find tedious; I think mostly because he's dealing with issues that don't particularly interest me. However some of his thoughts have been truly enlightening. I found his thinking-out-loud style on the nature of the Trinity to be mind / soul expanding. He's worth the work to read!

Can hardly wait to get into this tome of almost 600 pages for I have heard much about the highly respected Edwards one of key figures in the Great Awakening.
