This type of latch came recommended to me by my fence company. I bought this latch to use on my fence gate that leads straight on to my pool patio. My fence is only 4 feet tall due to neighborhood regulations. It was super simple to install, even a woman that has zero home improvement skills can install with ease! There is an “extra” safety feature that took me a few times to realize - you cannot have any force pushing or pulling on the gate when you pull up on the lever or it will not release therefore won’t allow the gate to open. So whether the latch is placed on the inside or outside of the gate, there’s no opening a fence gate for a small child, in my opinion. Anyone with small children and a pool needs this latch! Older kids might be able to figure it out eventually, but small kids (that can even reach the latch to pull it up) most likely won’t realize not to push or pull on the gate while trying to pull up on the latch to release it. This latch also comes with a key lock with 2 keys. Highly recommend latch for families with small kids and definitely anyone with a pool!

I had previously purchased a similar item (which had the lock cylinder at the top of the mast). It broke with the first usage. I returned it and looked for alternatives. There was another item that appeared identical to my broken one, so I dismissed it, but found this one for the same low price. I took a risk and ordered it. It paid off. All of my complaints about the first latch were addressed in this design (longer screws, better finish, smoother operation). Installation is simple, it took me less than 15 minutes.

Purchased this to help keep the wooden gate to our swimming pool closed and locked. The latch is quality construction, very durable and the parts fit perfectly. The plastic is durable and looks good! The lock prevents the easy opening of the gate. Made from a tough plastic material.

This is absolutely universal for left or right hand installation. Installed easily and works like it is supposed to! I’m glad to have this latch on my pool gate so that it will prevent small children from gaining access to our pool in the event that we are not outdoors or home.

This latch has improved the safety of our front gate dramatically. We use it to ensure our dogs can't run out the front and into the street. The magnetic latch has made it easy to cause the gate to close and latch automatically. The mechanism has be reliable and sturdy.

I have been using this brand for a few years now for an inground pool we put in 4 years ago. We recently added 2 additional gates this summer and used this same brand. Same build quality as before, and installed in minutes.
