I wish I had known...
...about this product SOONER! Brace yourself, this is a lengthy, in-depth review. *raises hand* Hi, my name is Ashley, and I am a skincare-aholic 😆. I’m 40 years old. During my youth (14 years old - early 20’s), I consistently had dry skin which now looking back, I attribute to my unknowingness of proper skincare products 👀 circa 90’s Sea Breeze and Oxy Pads I’m looking at you 👀 and routine. At approximately 25 years old to present, I began having combination skin that is slightly dry around my mouth and chin and my T-zone mildly oily. Within the last 10 years or so, it has become relatively sensitive and a vast array of cosmetic ingredients/products now cause me to break out when they once did not. I began having to wash my face twice a day, everyday, in the A.M. and P.M. In the morning upon awakening, the surface of my face feels a little heavy(?) and congested. The feeling is difficult to explain; it just feels icky and unclean. I have very very tiny closed comedone bumps around the hormonal zone of my mouth and chin. Though small, a few are large enough to detect by sight which affect the texture of that area and if I push my tongue against the inside of my mouth in that area, many can be seen. Obviously I don’t walk around in public doing that like a weirdo lol but I do at home while inspecting my face and they drive me to near insanity. Over the past two years, this year especially, I’ve noticed that the elasticity in my face (even more so behind my chin at the top of my neck) has begun to change and the inevitable declination of middle aged skin has emerged. I used to be able to extract the tiny closed comedone bumps with ease, but now it has become much more difficult. I am successful at extracting some, but truthfully more often than not, I wind up pushing the comedone deeper into my pore causing a cystic blemish. One to two times a month, without extraction, I get a LARGE hormonal cystic blemish that have a cluster of whiteheads (does anyone else loathe that word and find it as gross as I do? 😂) underneath the skin. These blemishes are far too deep to extract and it seems like every single time I start to, like clockwork, my husband enters my bathroom, sees me, and says, “Baaaaabe…babe! STOP. Leave it alone. You’re going to create a wound and then be upset with yourself for doing so. Aaaashleyyyyy! Leave 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 alone 👏🏻!” But I caaaan’t 😩 so of course he is right and I get extremely frustrated, angry, and upset with myself for creating a wound the size of Jupiter and then ultimately causing hyperpigmentation that takes forever to fade. I have a routine which consists of cleanser, toner, serum (enter this product), moisturizer, and sunscreen. Holy shizznit! I LOVE this serum! When I pump it onto my fingertips the amount is perfect as a little goes a long way. It is very thin and slides over my skin smoothly and effectively. I usually dispense one more pump and gently rub it into my neck and décolleté. Soon after rubbing it in it's as if my skin begins to gulp it down. There is zero scent. I've been using it now for exactly 4 weeks and I shiz you not, my husband has commented on my skin numerous times. His exact words - “Your skin looks amazing babe, seriously, did you change something? I’ve never seen it look so clear and smooth. Did you get Botox or something???” Hahaha! Omg I love him so much. I told him I switched to a new serum and it appears my skin digs it. Also, I don’t know why, but my comedones have disappeared and I have not had one single breakout. I’m not blowing smoke up your butts and it’s certainly not smoke and mirrors so it has to be this product in conjunction with the others. After application, along with my other products, my silicone based foundation glides on smoothly and my face is adorned with a dewy supple glow. My skin looks so good that my husband asked me to buy it for him and HE loves it too. Now that he has been using it for close to three weeks his skin has transformed as well. He has very sensitive and reactive skin that becomes easy irritated and red. He has relatively large pores and gets maybe 1 pimple every 3 months. He has zero redness or flaky irritated skin and his pores have notably reduced in size. We have been married 14 years (together 17 years total) and I have never seen his skin look so smooth and radiant! He absolutely loves it this product as well. I would like to note that this is my own personal review and I have not been asked to provide one which I find happens a lot. I just wanted to share my thoughts and opinions. I cannot speak on whether or not you will have the same results, but I truly hope you do because this stuff is incredible and has transformed my skin. Have a beautiful day!

Feels slimy but really moisturizes
I love using snail mucin on my face. It took a few days to get accustomed to the texture, but now it’s one of my favs.

Edited Review!! Please read 😊
UPDATE/EDIT:Below you will see my honest review on my initial experience with the Cosrx snail mucin & niacinimide 5% serum. That review is based off of my original order that I received November 27, 2023. That experience was very disappointing bc I REALLY wanted to love this product and have a great experience as so many others were raving online about. My sad, aging, dehydrated skin desperately needed to see some improvement, but unfortunately it didn’t happen, so this is why my original review consisted of 3 lonely stars and long, negative (but honest) review of the product and my personal experience with it.We’ll fast forward to February 16, 2024. I was damned and determined to understand why and how this product was such a “miracle” for everyone else’s skin, but mine. So after doing some research, I read on multiple beauty and dermatology websites that niacinamide (which is in this version) can’t be used with vit c facial products. I’m no beauty product expert, so I honestly had no clue about this. I’m just a 47 yr old woman struggling desperately to fight the signs of aging. I’m constantly trying new products and treatments with hopes of reversing some of the unsightly damage that I caused to my skin from the MANY hours spent laying out in the sun while covered in baby oil when I was in my teens and 20’s trying to get a dark tan or hoping to at least slow some of the signs of aging down a little. So I said all that to say that once I read this info about not using the niacinamide in conjunction with vit c, I decided to try the Cosrx Snail Mucin without the niacinamide and HOLY SMOKES…I FREAKIN LOVE IT!!! My skin is already thanking me. 🤪 My face looks so hydrated and I’m even seeing some improvement in texture and lines.NOW I see what all the hype is about with snail mucin and will continue to use it. I’ll also make sure I research product compatibility before trying new skin care products from now on bc if I wouldn’t have after my initial experience, then I would’ve totally missed out on the benefits I’m seeing now from the plain Cosrx Snail Mucin.I really hate leaving reviews that aren’t great, but I feel it’s important to be honest, so here it goes. 😔I was so excited and couldn’t wait for my Cosrx Snail Mucin to arrive. I just knew it was going to be amazing bc hey after all, everyone on Tik Tok said so. 🤦♀️ Unfortunately this stuff dries my already dry skin out REALLY bad. I already have dry skin and battle with the fine lines from aging, but the Cosrx Advanced Snail Radiance made it worse. Even though I still continued to moisturize heavily as I always have. On my second morning of using it I noticed some slight additional dryness and the skin on my forehead and around my nose was noticeably cracking. Not deep cracking, but superficial cracking that was obvious. It wasn’t major, but it was definitely noticeable. Especially after applying my foundation. I continued to use it though, bc I know you can’t get the full effects from any product without giving it time and also bc I know my skin is already dry and difficult, so I figured maybe I just needed to give it time and let my skin get adjusted to the new product. Not to mention i REALLY wanted to love this product. 😢 Well by day four my whole face was flakey and peeling. 🤦♀️ Me wanting so bad to love this product I still didn’t throw in the towel and give up. I continued on and tried so hard to make it work. I have now been using it daily for approximately 2 weeks and it’s just not vibing with my skin. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any improvement. It just really sucks bc now my skin look worse than ever with the dryness and that was the reason I bought it…to help with the dryness and to aid in plumping to hopefully decrease some of the visible fine lines.Maybe it’s just my skin, so I really hate to only give it 3 stars, but I feel like it would be misleading and not a completely honest review if I gave more than 3 stars.I say if you have normal or oily skin, then give it a try and hopefully it will work for you like it has for so many others, but if you have dry or sensitive skin, then I wouldn’t recommend.
