very sturdy
very sturdy . I bought it a while ago and it is still working. It is in one of my stores, we all use it and I haven't had any problems with it.

Office supple junky loves this stapler!
Love this stapler! I was a little skeptical, thinking it would never make it through my booklets but it works great!!! As a small business owner and a book printing g homeschool mom, I recommend!

Great for occasional use
The version I bought has the longer staples. I used these on a booklet with 12 sheets of 60W paper and it worked fine. You have to give it some weight when pressing down but I expected that. The back stop depth guide is perfectly calibrated at the 8 1/2" mark centering the staples exactly. The reason I think it's for occasional use only is that there is only one guide. For any regular use, you want another for the side. As far as I can tell, there is nothing like that in this price range, however.I will probably keep it unless I can find something with a side dam that doesn't cost a whole lot more. It doesn't take up much room in a drawer which is a good thing.

Want to make your own bookets? This is the answer for all poor pdf owning ttrpg people!
As a not so wealthy TTRPG (table top role-playing game) gamer, I have acquired many a pdf of rules, settings, and adventures... I can read them on my laptop, tablet, or phone easily, but sometimes, nothing beats the printed page...And so I've printed several pdf's in booklet format - ie. take your 8.5x11 and flip it landscape and fold it in half. Printed on front and back, pages side by side...but you need some way to staple this booklet to keep the pages together.ENTER THE LONG REACH STAPLER to the rescue.Set it to 5.5", line up the booklet, and BOOM... a booklet your mom'd be proud of.Using standard staples - the most I've tried so far has been a 96 page document - that amounts to 24 pages. I used 23 pages of 24# ultrawhite and one cover sheet using 100# glossy brochure paper. It took a solid whack to put the basic staple in, but it holds. I would think I could MAYBE do one more printed page, MAX... and that is using your basic staple. The specs say the stapler can do 25-50 pages if you use 23/8 staples or 24/8 staples. I think it probably could, but I have not tested it as yet.I gave it 4 stars on sturdiness - just because of how it feels. That may be a product of it being so long, but I have used more expensive, larger, heftier deep neck staplers that felt sturdier. For the price, though, I think 4 stars is more than generous.ALSO, that price explains the value for money. For me - and my relatively low volume use, it's great. I only print a few booklets every now and again. If you need to use this a lot, however, I would likely consider getting a sturdier model.

Very handy
This is very handy. I get little booklets every week of inspirational material by email every week which I print up for friends and family. For a while I had a regular stapler and devised a way to staple booklets with it. This stapler makes it SO MUCH EASIER. I like it also because it uses a full strip of staples -- a lot of staplers use only a half-strip.

Update: Stapler works, but is finicky
Originally, I gave this stapler one star because I couldn't get it to work. I started a return and had the stapler packed up and ready to go. As my need was time-sensitive and as I couldn't find any deep-throated staplers locally, I finally gave this one another shot. This time, it worked. I'm not sure what the difference was as I had tried all sorts of stapling techniques the night before. In any case, I was relieved and so canceled the return. One does have to press at just the right angle with just the right amount of pressure. For me, finding that angle and pressure was not easy, but I'm glad I figured it out. Here was my original review: Unfortunately, the stapler does not staple. I tried varying the pressure I used. I tried both the staples that came with the stapler and my own staples. Every staple failed. Most got stuck. A few bent oddly or folded on top of the paper.
