Side by side comparison with Felco 6
I needed two new pairs of bypass pruners, one for home and one for the school garden. Based on my research, I ordered the Felco 6 and the PrecisionPro. I just took them both out of the box and have the following observations: 1. The Haus & Garten pair feel A LOT heavier. I got out my scale and weighed them and there is only about 30 grams of difference between them, but in the hand it feels like more than 100. I did a blind comparison and could pick the lighter/heavier pair every time. Maybe they are weighted differently? It feels like much more than 30 grams of difference. 2. PrecisionPro has a different mechanism that lets the blades open halfway or fully. That is nice. A point for the PrecisionPro over the Felco. At the half way point, I don't have to apply constant pressure in my hand. At the fully open point, I do. If I was pruning something with bigger branches I wouldn't mind the extra pressure for a while. I would not want to have to maintain it whenever I was using the pruners. (Note, with the Felco 6 I don't have the constant pressure even in fully open position) 3. The PrecisionPro is a lot harder to close. Tighter spring. More force required. Very noticeable. That would lead to hand fatigue. 4. The blades both open to the same size aperture. 5. At fully open, the PrecisionPro is fighting my hand. The Felco does not exert pressure. It seems like the pressure lessens right at the edge of the most open position. 6. Measured shoulder to shoulder, the handles of the Precision Pro are about a 1/3 inch longer and 3/4 inch wider at the widest part. That is probably why the PrecisionPro exerts the pressure. Just a little tiny bit too big for my hand. I wear a woman's medium glove. 7. Obviously, the price point is better on the PrecisionPro than the Felco. 8. They both seem like quality tools. If my hand was just a tiny bit bigger I would keep them both and see which one I liked best over time. But with the extra weight and extra pressure, I'm going to send the PrecisionPro back.

Very sharp and comfortable in the hand
I just received my Haus & Garten pruning shears today and I was excited to try them out so quick as a whip I went to prune my Fringe tree that has four bases to it.As you can see in the photo, it cut cleanly through the 5/8" base with very little effort. I applied pressure until it stopped (just shy of halfway) then with a quick twist of my wrist it finished the cut making short work of the job!I am what I consider an average size 62 year old American male, 6'1" and while I was concerned that these might be too small for my hand they're not, in fact I think this particular pair could genuinely be considered unisex.I highly recommend these shears, and I consider myself to be relatively stingy when it comes to rating something 5 stars!

The precision pro is Identical to telco 6 for small hands
I prefer the small one for its portability and I can cut pretty big branches if I bend the branch away from the cutting blade which allows the pruner to take bites at a time .That’s an Old trick that is very useful almost everytime.Anyways this brand seems to be just as heavy duty (and light weight aluminum handles) as felco. It’s spec’d exactly the same, could be from the same factory. And although I’m loyal to them , I can’t beat this price when I lost my felco 6 and need a replacement on the fly . Good luck fellow plant people

"The last pruning shears I'll ever need to buy!"
After going through countless cheap-o big-box hardware store pruning shears that rusted or dull or just plain fell apart, I decided to spend a bit of time and research to find some good hardware that wouldn't need replacing after half a growing season. At first, I felt crazy spending almost six times my normal budget for new shears... Once they arrived though, I was 100% convinced that this was a tool that's worth every penny and then some. Some of the better points:* The locking mechanism is very secure and very easy to operate one-handed.* There is a neat little guard around the spring to prevent debris from getting in there and causing problems.* Ergonomics have clearly been very extensively tested, very comfortable to hold and use.* The angle of the handles and the blade are perfect for using the shears to trim in tight spots.* They provide excellent leverage, I've been able to cut everything from thick, woody stems and branches to delicate little trims on a bonsai.* The rubber on the handles provide excellent friction, even when wet. The tool has never accidentally slipped out of my hands. There is great control over the blade, and because of the angle it's very easy to see exactly what you're doing and make precise cuts. At the same time, the design provides exceptional leverage making big cuts of thick branches easy. Titanium in the blade is very light and quite hard, so it does not dull easily at all, in addition to being corrosion resistant. Other major parts that are not Titanium are made from stainless steel, so every component of this tool is designed to last and made from materials that absolutely will not corrode, rust, dull, wear down, or break any time soon.Excellent craftsmanship. I expect this tool will easily last for decades!
