Impressive sound for a 6.5" sub, even in a less than ideal enclosure
I don't write reviews often, but I have to share how impressed I am with these Skar EVL-65 D4 subwoofers. I purchased two of them and installed them in the rear doors of my 3rd gen Toyota Tacoma access cab. These fit perfectly when combined with the Taco Tunes heavy duty speaker adapter kit. On the access cabs, the rear door is divided down the middle - separating the speaker cavity from the seatbelt assembly beside it. With that in mind and by very rough estimations, the cavity of the door is roughly 0.6 cubic feet which provides a nice starting point for a ported enclosure.I only applied enough sound deadening to stop some rattles and hollowness, but did as much on the exterior door skin as I could. Right now it's running as pictured, but I've done some box modelling based on ~0.6 cu. ft. and may try to remove the large access panel in the bottom of the door to place an appropriately sized port in it's location. I'll update this review if I do it with the results. Enough about how well this works in the rear door of a Tacoma...So I've got two of these, wired to 1ohm, on a tiny Skar SK-M5001D 500W RMS amp. It's technically a little more than they are rated for each, but they're 3ft away from our heads and only need to fill a small truck cab, so the gain isn't turned up very high. I have a subsonic filter set around 30Hz, and a LPF at around 100Hz. This is not a SQL or SPL setup, I just wanted a fuller bottom end and these over delivered! I had far lower expectations than what I wound up with. They have great extension, sound good, and have been taking the little abuse I give them very well. If you have a truck with a smaller door cavity, can fit this speaker depth, and don't want to give up any cab space... I would recommend giving it a try. There are a number of YouTube videos of them in a properly spec'd enclosure really hitting hard too, so if you want some big bass in a small enclosure these may it the bill.

GX470 sub replacement
GX470 owner. This is a great replacement for a blown sub in the GX470. If you have a Mark Levinson system you WILL need to jumper the positive and negative terminals to get 8ohm impedance. YouTube has videos, it’s really easy. You will also need to cut the edges with a grinder to get it to fit flush in the original box.

This little guy puts in work.
Don't underestimate the output of this little guy. This is the first time I've ever used a subwoofer this small, so I wasn't expecting to much out of it. But dang I'm actually happy with it's performance. I classify myself as a true bass head. I'd say I'm a fan of skar audio as I've got 4 12s in my car. A 10 in my mom's ride. A 12 in my step daughter's car. Several 8s in various other speaker projects.I gave this 6.5 a shot mainly because of the small air space requirement at .6 cft ported. Used it in a bluetooth speaker build as shown in picture. It's only getting up to 100 watts and she is moving. The specs have this listed at 6mm of xmax. But it sure seems to be moving more then that. Now if I was to run these in a car, I'd want to run 4 or more to get enough output. Since it really only needs 100 watts per, your amp requirements will be low.

Good not great option for Firebird/Tran Am Monsoon system
Bought these to replace the 6.5" sail panel subs in my 2002 Trans Am with a Monsoon factory system.Needed a spacer to fit, which is normal given the size of the magnet. They sound good, but aren't quite as crisp a bass note as I'd hoped for. Overall I'm happy, but they're not as clear as sound as I'd hoped for.Good for the price, and a great option for a car with limited replacements available.

Great value bass for a small speaker
The 6.5 adds so much more bass. Put this in an apache 4800 built not not bought boom box i made and wow does it add depth. Great price for a great speaker. Sealed non-ported box with a 6x9 4 way speaker and 2 super tweeters. Has great lows, mids, and highs now.

AMAZING upgrade to my Logitech z625 subwoofer
The media could not be loaded. I’ve had the Logitech z625 for over a year now and the factory subwoofer is alright. Don’t get me wrong it is also equally amazing compared to 99% of other 2.1 speaker setups that you can get in the $200 price range. It’s done an amazing job for the price but there’s always room for improvement me and the Skar EVL-65 is that improvement. You do have to wire it up to 8 ohms which isn’t difficult and screwing the 6.5” sub into the 7” hole is annoying but possible. Once it’s all done and you turn it back on the range and depth of bass is beyond belief compared to the factory Logitech subwoofer. I’m definitely glad I upgraded. It’s so great that I want to test getting a Skar 8” 4 ohm subwoofer and box to transfer the hardware from the Logitech into to see how much better that sounds.
