Great paint but . . .
I bought this marine paint because I needed something very durable. I thot this marine paint would fit that bill because I never wanted to paint these stairs again, ever. It was a very difficult project and the paint was a bitch to work with. Applying in the summer with a roller, the paint in the tray thickened quickly and normal paint solvents never interacted with it. Nothing I had cut it. Used rollers dried quickly so I went through many. I primered the metal before painting and it took several touchup efforts to covered the white primer. One great factor is that it levels very well so it leaves a smooth finish. It takes several days to dry completely and I cannot speak to durability yet. Nine months later, durability looks great. I raised it from three star to four because the stairwell looks great. I do not anticipate any fading or paint oxidation. We’ll see.

A dangerous paint for decks
When purchasing this paint for our house deck I could not imagine a better paint than a boat deck paint. In my mind it would have good moisture resistance, hold up under the intensity of the sun and not be slippery. Wrong on all counts. Unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. The second year it’s totally peeling and unfortunately that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that it’s slippery. Can you imagine a boat deck paint that’s slippery? Taking my dogs outside one morning after it had rained the deck was slippery I fell and dislocated my ankle. It required surgery to pull the bones back in place and I have been laid up for three months. So I will not recommend this paint nor will I ever use it again. It was beyond disappointing, it’s been devastating.

Could coverage
Steel metal color and it has a heavier coverage than latex paints. Has a shiny sheen to it after drying.
