DEWALT Electrical Code Reference: Based on the 2011 National Electrical Code 2nd Edition

I bought this book because it was required for a class I am taking in collage. But after receiving it, I was very happy. It is well laid out, easy to find information and written in a manner that is easy to understand with lots of photos. I will have the chance to sell the book back, but I am planning to keep this book for my library. It is not a complete code book, so if you are doing major electrical work you will need a more in depth book for that, but overall it is a great book for common issues.Love the spiral binding, and the heavy pages. Should last for many years.

Good price.I recommend.The book is a nice reference for the 2011 NEC.79 pages that are coated heavy stock in a spiral bound book. There are color pictures with numbers that take you to the section of the code. It can't get much easier than that.Even if you are not an electrician, but a weekend DIY'er this book is very helpful. Of course, if you don't feel confident working around electricity then don't try this at home!But if you are like me, then it gives you the information you need to ensure that you follow the National Electric Code

This works as a reference book. As others have mentioned there is a misprint at the very beginning where some pages are upside down. They are also CUT on the wrong sides, so yes you can unbind and rebind those pages, but they will still face the wrong way.I like the illustrated examples and pictures, and they do cover most homeowner common-use cases.

I used this book to re-wire my entire fire damaged (as in DESTROYED) house, and the electrical inspector actually said I did a better job than many electricians!Nothing beats a professional though, so for those not interested in tackling their own electrical, this book would ALSO be useful for keeping your electrical contractor honest and in-check.Very plain and easy to understand, with pictures of the various areas of the home (bedrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, etc) summarizing the requirements. BE SURE you get the latest edition...seems like codes are constantly changing.

All the pages of this book, cover included, are made of a sturdy, glossy paper. It appears water-resistant and tough enough to keep in your vehicle. Book is about 5x8 inches, small enough to keep in a glovebox. The spiral binder enables the book to be opened all the way around to any page and stay there. Very good and practical design. Very handy and full of good information.

Great reference. While not the complete code, the pics and illustrations are nice as a quick reference. It does contain links to the NEC if additional reference is needed.

Why does it take 2 days to get to "Preparing for shipment" and then a couple more days in this status? Don't they have shipping robots?I guess the robots joined the union and are taking a break.I will not shop with them again. If it weren't a gift card to Amazon I would have cancelled the order and bought elsewhere.

Excellent summary of the important parts of the NEC. Much better than spending the absurd amount of money on a copy of the NEC itself. The book is well-organized and the various topics clearly explained.
