Ubiquiti products are great performers at a very good price point, and the RocketM2 is no exception
This is not the first Ubiquiti product I ordered and it will not be the last. They bring commercial functionality to consumer priced products, and have a fantastic line of products that will fill almost any need a consumer or light commercial customer would need. Of the four different products I purchased, all have a common user interface so I to not need to relearn the basic setup for products with different purposes. This particular product is quite versatile as you can use it with an appropriate Ubiquiti antenna, or just add your own. When used with one of the antennas designed for the Rocket, the assembly requires few or no tools except to mount the antenna. (Be sure the antenna is for the same frequency band!) I had great performance when pairing this with their 90 degree sector antenna, picking up a few signals as far as a mile away, but I did have a good mounting location and line of sight to the other antenna. The signal I wanted to pick up was half a mile away, with a few tree tops in the way, and I still got rock solid connection to that access point.I am using this in a base station router mode to feed my local network and it is a great performer in that role.

Still a Great Base Station
Purchased this Rocket M2 to replace a 6-year old like model. Was able to get it online and functioning fairly easily and the signal strength seems to be better than the old had when new. Very pleased with the performance so far and also like the fact that I didn't have to relearn a whole new model or language in order to switch them out.

Using for AREDN work. Review will reflect Part 97 use, not normal wifi.
I bought this item to add myself to the local AREDN network. I flashed it with AREDN's software, and I'm using it on amateur radio bands. Setup, once I figured out that I was overthinking things, was fairly easy.I'm able to connect it to my computer through an AirRouter HP, also flashed with AREDN software and working as another AREDN node. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of a river valley, and most of the other AREDN operators are on the other side of hills. However, the actual unit is quite satisfactory. I just need to figure out how to get more height.

This works great but has very high sensitivity to storms
We are loosing one of these every week...we get a storm every week. We have them on a 60 foot tower at 30'. Tower is well grounded with multiple ground lines and coax runs into conduit at base and about 15 feet then up 6 foot to the weather proof enclosure with UPS and ground isolation outlets. Yet still the will fail with a lightning strike just a quarter mile away. Others we know with this product do not have these problems. So 5 stars is warranted if you do not have weather issues.

Ubiquity Rocks!
This is wonderful. If you need a stronger signal and have a few branches in your way, this will do the trick. I have connected at 8 miles distance with 93% strength and still get around 8mbs download speeds. Spend the extra money and purchase this unit.

Ham Mesh Network
Using the rocket as a node on a Ham Emergency Mesh Network. It was easy to flash the firmware to the latest AREDN firmware and connect to the mesh network. Using a 90 Degree sector antenna and get great signal strength between my node and the rest of the network.

Best for the money
Hands down the best radio i have used yet. Easy set up and detection of signals. I would recommend it over the more expensive brands. No problems since i have been using this model for 2 years now.

Not quite what I had expected, but does extend your outdoor reach.
I suppose I was expecting more, I have ordered another brand to see if I can get all that I am after. I do enjoy the rocket and it does perform pretty well, but I have seen plenty of off the shelf routers that perform better. I am not blown away, just happy that it was useful at extending my reach to some cameras.
