Garmin 890 8-inch RV GPS Navigator Bundle with Car Charger Expander and Hard Shell EVA Case for Tablets/GPS (010-02425-00)

Loved it so far, worked very well on the 245mile trip we took last weekend.Was not impressed with the extra power adapter.Not sure if the problem was the adapter or how I was using it. The power cut off on GPS after about half hour. Power light on GPS plug was on but dim?? Removed adapter and plugged GPS power cord directly into 12v outlet and power light was brighter. While diving could not really do any troubleshooting with adapter.Then found GPS would go dark after about 5 minutes. Remember I had set screens time out to 5 min. So when stop went into settings changed to max of 30 minutes time out. Because did Not find a way to turn off screen power off timer. So rest of trip would touch scree every 15 or 20 min and stayed on. With my past GPS units, as long as you were driving the screen would stay on. This is the same with GPS on my phone.. With the money I paid for this GPS, there should be a way to do this.Look forward for feedback on how solve this.

Seems like we received a refurbished unit, so many problems. Wont keep a charge, power adapter will not fit in the port, the short cable will but will not reach to dash. The mount will not stay on windshield, the ball adapter is clearly defective or just will not support the weight of the unit. Time out where screen goes dark is horrible. We wound up using our phone for directions to campsites which we were trying not to do. I will be returning which is a pain because we are now on the road full timing in our rv.

It never fails when directions for a turn comes up and I’m using my phone gps, someone calls and I can’t see the directions. For this reason I bought the Garmin so that I can confidently tow my RV. However, I had to get rid of the IOS app because it was taking calls in the Garmin screen. Most frustrating is that the 12v cord is too big to fit into the screen slot! I have to use the usb cord and usb to 12v adapter. Shame on Garmin!!!

Had earlier Garmin model and it consistently took us out of the way. The 890 not only kept us on path but has wonderful features like the hands free Bluetooth for phone. It kept me completely alerted for traffic conditions ahead. best garmin product ever of the three I have had. Can now just use WAZE for cars and cops ahead and not rely on its sometime bad directions.Vendor also delivered product early so another plus!

Works great! My husband loves it. In addition to ease of use and the mapping features, he loved that it shows real time speed limits and upcoming traffic construction.

We have the 890 which does a great job of warning of decent, railroad tracks, slow zones etc. But a terrible job of navigating, because it keeps saying roads are closed. Has happened many times already. Given where we travel, the delta can be large (today in was 272 miles).Seems to be the traffic option, but now I'm back to using my phone since Garmin doesn't ask if its correct, and just says "Road Closed...". Garmin website useless.Anyone else have this experience? Should I turn off real-time traffic?

The screen wasn't large enough for my purpose of mounting it on the inside of the windshield of a large motor home. It was too far away from me to see well. But otherwise a very nice unit. It would have been fine if used in a smaller motor home, car of pickup.

Loved everything about this unit! Screen display and driving prompts were amazing!Bought for hauling our new fifth wheel!
