Hope in Front of Me: Find Purpose in Your Darkest Moments

Danny is very honest about the struggles he went through with the loss of his wife, his decision to audition and perform on American Idol, and the opening of Sophia's Heart. The reader has an opportunity to see his true heart and the role faith played in his journey. He repeatedly stresses that his life would have been very different if he had given in to his fears and played it safe. Instead, he repeatedly chose to step outside his comfort zone and he reaped the benefits of doing so. This enabled him to have a more fulfilling life for himself and his family, and also to bless many people. He continues to give many people in the Nashville area a hand up by helping them with housing and preparing them for the workforce. Danny's Christian faith is evident throughout the book. Even if you are not religious, however, there are so many practical life lessons you can learn from reading this book.

The book was very inspiring. I like how he has a foundation that he works from. He knows his purpose and uses his music wisely to inspire others and some just for fun.. Its interesting to get the basis of where his music comes from, its his life. I think that is why I can relate to it, so hard to find that now. So much "garbage music" to sift through these days. His book is well written and he has a positive outlook even though he has faced the hardest tragedy of losing his first wife. He shares some important principles to live by. I really enjoyed reading about his life and how he faces trials.

Having learned the story of Danny Gokey and the death of his wife I had to read this book. Someone sent me his cd after my husband was killed in the San Bernardino terrorist attack. This book goes through his life, his marriage to his first wife and grieving her death, and meeting and marrying his second wife. I liked his candidness going through the grieving process. Reading about how quickly he remarried was surprising, but I think some people remarry very quickly while others never marry again. Because of my own beliefs I have no plans to remarry.

I got this book because I have had a recent death that has been difficult to deal with and thought this book may provide some comfort. What the message is in the book is love and hope. Also, it is about working through grief by reaching out and helping others. This is written in a very down to earth style and I felt aimed more to young adults but there is good advice for anyone at any age experiencing hard times including the death of a loved one. While this book does have a Christian feel, it is not the "hit you over the head" type of book but more of the inspirational genre.

This is now my favorite book of all time! So inspirational to hear what Danny has been through and overcome with the Lords help and blessings. I’ll most likely read again!! Makes me really want to leave a legacy after my time here is finished. ❤️

I don't think there is much better than an autobiography of truly interesting person. This book has a little bit of everything. For me the most important aspect of this book is FAITH. This young man truly has gone through a lifetime of pain and disappointment, but then uses all that he has learned to make such a great impact on so many people who are so much less fortunate this many!! It was also an extra bonus to have watched him on American Idol and remembering some of his story from that.

My husband passed away in a car wreck a month ago at age 41. This book helped me to acknowledge young people do make it through tragedy. I just wish he would have emphasized more that God gave him the hope he often referred to. I know that ultimately it is God who has carried me this past month.

Good p&p. Mum wanted it so I brought it. Made me happy to do so hence 5 stars. That is all I can say.
