There is so much to learn in the app as far as setting sensitivity, storage, playback, view field... there are a ton of options to customize the experience. The default is fine too - but if you're getting a million alerts every time a car drives past, or a tree branch moves in the wind - you will want to use settings to ignore those detections and set your detection to just the door or porch.Simple camera - doesn't remotely rotate - has night vision and plugs into USB (included)Sure, you need to sign into the app, it's a little clunky, there's a learning curve, playback doesn't always seem to work, events don't always record, I've had one just stop working over time.HOWEVER - I've tried other more expensive brands and they are about the same. I've bought a different brand in-store from Best Buy to watch the dogs - DISASTER.WORSE - Almost every other brand tricks you into needing a Monthly Subscription or Google Storage - someplace to store the footage for playback.This Eufy Camera stores/retrieves the information directly onto/from the SD card (sold seperately - another pain) - But again - the cost savings of not paying $ monthly subscription is obvious and makes this camera my Go-To camera for keeping an eye on my basement and attic for any intruders or critters. Bought them for my mom for her house.I even used it once to direct a friend to find a folder in a box in my attic by directing him through the live camera/microphone "Go left... it may be under that blue bag... try that yellow container - there it is!"The camera in my basement at my mountain cabin for 3 years suffers extreme temperatures... keeps on ticking! It's awesome. Live view anytime and trigger alerts when it detects something moving.

I love these cameras. I bought them for my mother's house so I can keep an eye on her as she is elderly. I have one in the kitchen aimed at her stove so that when she cooks, I can see if she turned her burner off. I have another aimed at her hallway so if know when she gets up and to ensure she comes back down the hall so I know she didn't fall in the bathroom. This helps me while I am at work so I know she is okay during the daytime when she is alone and i can talk to her through them..

This my 2nd Eufy camera purchase. Identical to my first (they're indoor wired). I also purchased a 128meg micro SD memory chip for each. They're great as a security camera , like in a window by the front door. The 2nd camera (which came 2 weeks ago) wouldn't boot up or pair to my wifi. So, after multiple trys (thinking I was doing something wrong), I called the Eufy customer service number, and after a wait in the Q, got help (well, I actually left a call back number, and after 15 min, got a call). The guy was helpful, and, finally, after he had me try some things, he concluded that my new camera was defective. So, he took my pertinent info, and, viola, he sent me a new one. I'll be sending the defective one back to Eufy. I will say that, for me (a septuragenarian), the customizing tools and online help are somewhat confusing (like how to set night mode, turn off the alarm, set live times, etc). But the camera video quality is great. Hope this helps new shoppers.

Excellent video quality. We use them to check in our pets throughout the day or when we're out of the house. We don't use the motion detection or security type features, so I can't speak to that. There's no fee, which is nice, and the app seems to always work. I recommended these to a friend and both her and her parents bought some and are also happy customers.
