Be sure the charging cords work with your phone(s)
I bought this radio/charge device to test it to see if it would make a good Christmas gift for my siblings, one of whom lives in South Florida and experiences hurricanes, one who regularly gets Nor'easters, and a couple who get frequent snow storms. I also wanted to see if it would be useful during an earthquake or similar emergency since I am on my community's emergency response team. I primarily was interested in it's phone charging capability since I'm on the Communications portion of the team. The first most noticeable thing was that the 2 mobile phone charging cables that come with the product did not fit in my Samsung S22 phone. So, I had to order a separate connector that would allow by Samsung charge to plug into a USB port on the device. There is another port next to the USB port, but that didn't work either.Once my phone was connected, I started cranking. I found that it took approx. 300 cranks to make my phone's battery increase by 1%. I have to admit, that I didn't have as much incentive to keep cranking during my test------as I would probably have during a disaster, and I'm hoping the solar charging feature works faster than the crank, but I wanted to have an idea of what time and manual energy could be involved to make an emergency call or two (if my phone was totally dead. In my test, the phone was 42% charged when I started and I raised the charge by 3% to get an average # of cranks required per 1% increase). The radio had good volume and the light was nice and bright. So, I guess one's buying criteria would be based on which feature is most important to them.I did keep it vs. returning it, but I ended up buying books for all my siblings' gifts. No cranking required.

A lot in a little package
I purchased this after the big freeze in Texas, Feb 2021, after every other charging device except our cars gave out on us. I was a bit doubtful when I ordered, but I'm really impressed! When I first received it, I just used the included cord to charge the device, which hardly took any time at all. It sits on my kitchen counter, because once in a while I use it for the radio; while it is hard to find the station (anyone who grew up before digital radio settings understands!) once I find the station, the sound is quite good. What surprised me most is that between use of radio or charging my phone, this device recharges itself just from the overhead light in the kitchen! Now, as far as charging the cell phone--I can get a full charge on it, but it is a bit slow. Of course, I've mostly used this while I was on road trips, using my phone as it was charging, so I don't want to judge too harshly. The only thing that has been truly difficult is the charging by spinning the handle. If I was desperate, I would make it work, but it truly is very time consuming that way. I would also like to see a button added to check the power levels without turning on the light or radio.Overall, I am very pleased with this little charger/light/radio combination and would definitely recommend and buy again if I needed another.

Smaller than expected, but not disappointed.
I'm sure it was just down to my own misconception of what the product size would be but it was smaller than I expected. Which is not a bad thing just was a little surprised. It's about as long as my hand is which is a pretty good thing it can fit into a backpack easier, the solar charging on it works and so does the hand crank charging, haven't tested out the other charging method yet. This sound quality is not absolutely amazing but it is a standard radio sound, The radio sounds like what you would expect a radio on a device like this to sound like pretty average. The flashlight works on it just fine. Overall it serves its purpose and I am glad I made this purchase. If you live in Florida where power outages from storms are not unheard of and there are occasional hurricanes I would suggest this product, if you have to charge your phone it's useful for that especially since it is solar power compatible. If you need to charge something and you're out of batteries well just stick it out in the sun That's actually a very amazing thing about it. Also I suppose if you were going camping since One of its features is being solar-powered it could work to charge your phone out at a campsite. It's useful and I got pretty much what I expected other than it was slightly smaller than I thought but then again that could have been my misconception.

All the bells and whistles
They thought of everything when they made this unit. It has a AM/FM/WB (weather band) radio to keep you informed and for lighting it has a super bright LED main light as well as a top mounted LED reading lamp. Which also houses a top mounted solar charging cell to help keep the batteries charged. And the good thing is, you don't have to worry about having a supply of batteries to keep this unit running. It can be recharged several ways including a built-in hand crank, and a USB port to plug it in. And it can also keep your cell phone charged with a built-in USB port. There's also a SOS button that you can push which sends out a signal that can be picked up it's by rescue personnel. I haven't had a chance to use the unit long-term to determine the battery life but it does have a charge status LED light to show you how much battery life you have left. I'll update this review at a later time after I've had a chance to put the unit through its paces to see how long the battery lasts but once again, you can recharge it several ways such as the solar cell on top, the hand crank and the USB port to plug it in. A definite must have for your emergency kit.
