Q: Does the tape glow for only the first12+ hrs used?Can it be recharged with light&the time that is placed in light doesn't count as the glowing time?

Glow lasts for a few hours after light. Even after hours in full sunlight it is dark in 2 hours. But yes, it can be recharged as many times as you wish.

Q: Does anyone know what this particular brand of tape is made of and whether it has toxic or radioactive properties? Some do and some don't...

Per the MSDS available from technoglowproducts.com website, no radioactivity and not toxic. Product is a photo luminescent latex paint on an adhesive backed coated paper strip. When kept intact (not peeled apart like string cheese, or eaten by pets, etc.) the powdered pigment is safely sealed like those glow exit signs, watch dials, etc.Don White, Former Hospital Safety and Security Director, NVMHI, Falls Church, VA

Q: Help! What is the secret trick to peeling off the "top protective layer?" Grrrr! Thanks.

We couldn't figure it out either. But we still were able to use it for a glow in the dark party and we still had a blast with it. I was initially frustrated by this too, but the protective layer doesn't hinder the glow.

Q: What if I have a place with less natural light ? Will the recharge happen properly ?

In my application I have natural light and it works well. My guess is that the tape is responding to photons of light energy and will charge regardless of where the light comes from. Having said that, I would assume that it would charge faster if exposed to sunlight than incandescent light in a room without windows.
