Just buy it!
I purchased this trash can in June of 2019 and I’m writing this review in April of 2025. When I purchased this trash can I was so hesitant due to the price and money being tight due to my recent separation. However, I wanted a trash can that would hold up to constant use. Well, almost 6 years later, we’re still using this trash can and it works just as well as it did the first day I received it. Throughout the years I’ve taken it outside and given it a good scrub down and hosed it off. Highly recommend this trash can!

Best kitchen trash can!
Initially, I was hesitant to purchase this trashcan because of the price. Once the trashcan arrived and we started to use it I can tell you right now that it is well worth the money. It’s bigger than most, and very solid.

Trash can that works smoothly.
It's apparent that this trash can is designed to last with a stainless opening mechanism. The lid opens smoothly with the foot pedal and it also opens simply by directly flipping the lid open. It stands a little taller than our previous can, but it handles standard 13gal bags just fine.

Grate size for your kitchen
This size is grate for kitchen! I only have to take garbage out once a week now!! That's a plus, The top opens and closes very quietly with foot operation. Style is quite nice too. Would recommend!

Now I have an expensive garbage can that will not close properly
I was so excited when I saw this unit. My wife and I had just completely upgraded our kitchen and we had a lot of RED counter-top appliances. So, I bought this unit in red for around $130 or so through Amazon. Just so you know, there are 3 snaps on the back of the top piece/lid that snap/pivot on the back of the floor unit... All seemed well for a few months and then the middle snap/clip that holds the top to the back of the plastic can, came lose. I was able to snap it back into place a few times but then it never would snap back in and hold after that. Now, the leftmost snap has come lose of the bottom can also. Doesn't make any difference if you snap it back in place or not, first time you step on the pedal, BAM, it snaps out. Now I have an expensive garbage can that will not close properly. I have a friend, who after seeing this unit back about 9 months ago bought the same one for his wife. Guess what, the same problem. Please take heed to this message, while this is a great looking garbage can, it will not hold up long-term. I'm so disappointed and now have to go looking for another 24 gal can.

Nice receptacle...
Sturdy. Soft-Close lid. Streamlined...it's tall but low profile, fits snugly next to the wall.I love the foot peddle so when I'm baking/cooking I don't have to touch the lid with messy hands.A quality 13 gal bag brand fits perfectly. I got my unit on sale, free ship with PRIME.Couldn't be happier (unless I didn't have to cook every day) ☺I'm only deducting one star due to the original cost, which is pricey for plastic. If you can, wait until it's On Sale.

Longest Lasting Trash
I bought my first garbage can in 2018 from Amazon Warehouse. Last month one of the metal parts came out. I got it back in but it kept coming out. I waited and waited and finally a can came to Amazon Warehouse. These cans are very sturdy, highly recommended by me.

dog safe...
We previously had another high quality metal "doctor's office" style can in the kitchen. The heavy lid on it really slammed down when you took your foot off the pedal. If the dog was anywhere near by when you were in there she'd come running up to try and look in. If she ever got her nose slammed in there it would probably be a bad day, I didn't want that to ever happen. I saw one of these rubbermaid plastic ones in the doctor's office recently, and tested it out while I was waiting in the little room. This can is good quality, light weight and the dog can get her nose slammed in it all day long with no pain... This one is quiet too... if I didn't carefully and slowly remove my foot from the pedal in the morning while making coffee and feeding the cats, everyone in the house would be awakened by the slamming metal can lid.
