Caran d'Ache Aquarelle Palette
This palette is fantastic. It is a must have for Caran d'Ache products.

Great for Watercolor pencils.
I love this tool for use with my watercolor pencils. You can add some pigment from the pencils to the palette, then add water to paint with. Works great!

Great for watercolor pencils
This has been perfect for my watercolor pencil artwork. I rub the pencil against the surface, then wet and use that as a regular watercolor paint. Much easier than using scrap paper, and it washes easily.

Very nice palette especially for watercolor pencils
Great palette. It has a smooth side and a rougher, textured side. The rougher side works great for watercolor pencils.

Useful but stains easily.
I like this palette because I can use Art Graf squares on it on the rough side and watercolor on the smooth side. It's small, light, easily stored. What I knocked a star off for is that it stains. I put watercolors on it, and that same day, after using them, I washed it. It is stained, and no amount of scrubbing will remove that. I suspect that since I keep rewetting the Art Graf on the rough side, that will stain as well, but I was surprised at the watercolor stains. Watercolor hasn't stained my cheap plastic palettes, and this wasn't cheap! It is clean, but it is not longer white.

sharp edges, good palette
Great palette, super light weight and terrific size for travel. I'm kind of wondering, like another reviewer, if these are really made by Caran d'Ache? As logo is different on product I got and the photo on Amazon.com; and there are sharp edges on palette, plastic manufacturing flaws (like a couple of really tiny chips or flaws around the thumb hole, rough extra plastic on the edge in one spot, like where it was extruded from a machine)--nothing a minute with some sandpaper can't fix, and nothing that affects it's usefulness. Just small manufacturing flaws on this inexpensive plastic palette. Don't see a place of manufacture listed on the plastic wrapper. Happy with purchase (this is a replacement for a previous one that cracked in shipping).

Great palettes, though not always easy to clean
I've tested these palettes several times over the last year. Sometimes my pencil residue easily cleans off, other colors may be difficult to remove. I need a clean palette to see what color I'm blending, so it's sometimes a bit of extra work.I love the ability to color and mix my water soluble pencils on a surface, where I can then use a Q-tip, brush, or other item to transfer my liquified colored pencil to the paper surface as an undercoat. If I like the color result, I can then blend the same dry pencils over these base colors, and avoid some of the paper graininess that often shows through. It's also a great way to test the "wet" color of a water soluable pencil, that you plan to use dry on paper and later blend.I could do the same by mixing pencil colors on my paper and softly water blending them; however, the palette allows me to test color combinations before they are put to paper, and not may be unremovable. The palette would also work well for those who want water color results, without water colors, and would be easy to use outdoor or travel.
