Nicely written book
The book is nicely comprehensive overview of the subject covering basic aspects of electronic components. The most attractive part of the book is that in every chapter, numerous numerical examples have been solved which is extremely useful for students to understand the concept. Furthermore, the students preparing for GATE/ PSU or other competitive examinations can study the book thoroughly to have a nice grasp on the subject.

A review on Basic Electronics,Principles and applications -Chinmoy et. al.
Well organised combination of Device Physics and Circuits. Authors' proficiency in Physics and Engineering is evident while going through various chapters. The first 2 chapters deal with physical concept of various components that are detailed in the rest of the chapters.Chapters 3 to 6 will be useful for beginners as well as for the study of Electronic Circuits in the subsequent semester. Provides the foundation for practical testing of circuits .Analytical treatment given to amplifiers -CE, CB & CC-small signal equivalence - excellent in its simplicity. Chapter 7 nicely treats JFET, MOSFET & gives a comparison between them & BJT. Detailed Analysis for Oscillators, Feedback Amplifiers, multivibrators & Large Signal Amplifiers - suits higher Semester syllabus as well as basic level. Basics of Power Electronics, IC's ,Op-Amps, Analog Communication and digital logics - bridges the gap for higher semester course curriculum. Multiple choice Questions and Mathematical Problems benefit the students in understanding each chapter in greater depth .Serves the need of GATE/PSU aspirants as it covers almost all topics except Signal Processing, Control Systems, Digital Communication and Applied Field Theory - as ook emphasis mainly basic level . The reference should have been listed at the end of each chapter. Overall I feel that the book is one of the best in its category and suits the need of KTU (Kerala Technological University ) and other universities including IITs, NITs etc.
