Our kids are learning how to catch and throw with these over sized frisbees. The little ones are not afraid of them bc they are soft. We have the really big one and the smaller version. The 4 year old can throw both, loves the big one bc he can catch it with his head and body; loves the smaller one bc he can throw it much further and can catch it by ringing it around his arm. I recommend the smaller one for younger kids as the bog one is a lot bigger and more difficult to throw.

Our older lab is in love with this frisbee and lights up when anyone picks it up to take it outside. You do have to teach them it is not a chew toy. Strictly a toss and retrieve. Soooo much joy for our labs.

This is the closest product available to the Woosh disc that I enjoyed with my children in the 1990's. That one was slightly better thanks to (A) a slightly larger opening that made the ring easier to catch, and (B) seamless durable construction. This one is very close, and still great for kids. But the seam is noticeable and causes a slight wobble that more serious enthusiasts would shun.I like this Beamo disk enough that I've bought several more. I now play with my grandchildren, ages 6 and 7. As with the original Woosh model, this disc doesn't hurt when they catch or when they miss. In fact, this Beamo is gentler than the old Woosh because its outer ring is padded. When regular Frisbee-style toss gets boring, we try to catch this Beamo by putting an arm through it. Or a foot. Or catch it on the head.In summary:- Soft and safe for younger children.- Lots more options than a traditional Frisbee.- Slight wobble that kids won't even notice.

Star Magic Beamo Woosh Frisbee Flying Disc 20 Inch is so easy to throw and goes for a good distance (nope, I haven't measured it!) I use it with dogs, who love it, although I have to keep them from LOVING it too much!
