Product is ok but price is way too high

I bought this to help break through the ground and cut roots on a mountain bike trail I was building. It has worked excellently for this purpose. I was torn on which weight head to get, but I am glad I got the 2.5 lb head. It is heavy enough to do everything I asked of it, but the lighter weight makes this easier to use.

It’s tough to write a review on a basic hand tool like a Mattock. I will say it meets my expectations for this tool. Its dimensions are the exact same as a few other brands I’ve used and I can’t really tell them apart. Is the steel noticeably harder or the handle noticeably lighter? No. Does it do the job as expected? Yes.

Very nice tool. Arrived when promised. Light weight, easy to handle. Requires initial sharpening.

This is a very sturdy mattock and can tackle the heaviest of jobs. However, it is a little heavy and takes some energy to use. However, I am glad I bought it.

Don’t be tempted to tackle big roots wit this. It will bend the blade then it will easily compromise after that. Works great on smaller stuff and light to carry.

I needed something to dig into hard soils, and this does the job perfectly. The 2.5 lb weight is perfect. I can swing this thing all day, and not get tired. I'm very happy with it.

Haven’t actually gotten to use this much yet, so will provide an update in the future, but from the look and feel it certainly seems like a solid tool that will perform well.
