The lcd screen replacement works well. All tools needed are supplied. This product does not come with instructions. Once I managed to replace the screen it worked perfectly. Be very careful while separating the old screen from the home buttons at the bottom... the tape around them is very sticky and hard to get off. Other than that, I suggest you get additional adhesive tape because the screen is actually glued to the body of the phone and the tape that's provided is very thin... also watch a video or two on how to replace the screen.

This device was a life saver for me. I am currently working overseas and I dropped my S5 with a tempered glass on it. Guess what? It cracked the LCD behind the glass. I took my phone to several repair shops to see if they would replace the screen. Everyone told me the same thing that the part was to expensive to get and they could not replace it. I found this assembly and decided to order it because it came with everything for me to replace the screen. I got it and went back to on of the repair shops and they said they would do the work for $10. This saved me because everything on my phone was not backed up so it was very important to be able to access everything again. Thank you my phone is looking like new again.

Purchased a week ago and when I got it and tested it, it would not register touches. I am returning it and will try one more from this company before looking elsewhere as luckily I realized it didn't work before any of the glue had sealed so I was able to remove it without breaking anything and thus have already returned it. Mine DID come with the home button which was strange since it says it doesn't, also the protection on the back was different than any of the other pictures they show. Due to those peculiarities, I surmise it to be the one from the $129.99 version they also list as opposed to the $149.99 one that was purchased. The display colors looked good it just wouldn't register touches so will update my rating if the 2nd one works as expected.************************************* RECOMMENDATIONS *****************************************************************************************************Make sure you test it for color, clarity, touch response before final placement!! Also make sure to inspect it with a bright light at VARIOUS angles to make sure there are no hairline cracks in lcd screen, glass or in the ribbon cables as they can be very difficult to spot with the human eye in normal lighting conditions.*** Update 04/22/17 ** Changed my rating to 1 star after 2ND REPLACEMENT ATTEMPT!!I ordered another one as I stated above and this one came destroyed. The pictures I have attached below are of the 2ND one that I ordered. The shipping box was undamaged and thus I assume it was not damaged in the shipping process. As you can clearly see from the pictures the screen and LCD were broken, covered in fingerprints (I wear latex gloves when working on devices) and I have included a picture of the back. This shows the circuitry of the Digitizer Assembly and there are white fibers/hairs stuck in all of the glue throughout the back? This was extremely disappointing as for $149.99 I expect a working, clean, NEW product. Also, having flammable fibers stuck throughout the circuitry could be a fire hazard considering how much heat can be produced.(although unlikely) Overall, I have to recommend you stay away from this product and the seller as it appears highly unlikely that you will be satisfied with your product.

peeling the seal strip is a bit of a PITA but otherwise it works like a champ. Do yourself a favor and review two or three different videos before you attempt this...

For stars because I still needed to buy the tape to hold it in storage, but it was a good complete kit otherwise. Worth the discount for the screen with the burned in image.

The glue on the edges of the new screen doesn't hold that well to the plastic of the phone. Every once in a while I have to push the top of the phones screen down because I see it protruding up. But at least it works.
